Re: New information about Chester

Just wanted to update. Chester watched the Parrotlets enjoy their porridge and decided to see what the rave was all about. Now he's loving it too! I'm so happy with the results!! I'll be adding this to the recipe list for weekly rotation. Thanks so much! I'm trying a porridge this morning. At first ...

Re: New information about Chester

I'm trying a porridge this morning. At first it was scary to my Parrotlets and Chester hasn't tried it yet. The Parrotlets now think it's delicious and are gorging on it :) I hope Chester tries it, he is so picky about trying new foods. I used 3 tbsp of pellets and hot water to just make them float....

Re: New information about Chester

I currently have Chester on Zupreem Natural and he loves it! I never thought that an all seed bird would take to pellets so quickly, but he has. He's a dunker so I have moved the bowls around in his cage to have his water by his pellets so he can eat more. It's worked. I work from home so I just cha...

Re: New information about Chester

We just got back from our re-check. Chester weighed 95 grams at his first appointment and today he weighed 128 grams, so he has gained very well. I thought he felt heavier but it's hard to tell through a towel. He has one more shot on Saturday, then we are going to wait a week and redo the white blo...

Re: New information about Chester

You've got my sympathy. This can't be easy. Thanks you! And no it isn't. I've only had him for a couple of months, so I don't even know his "real" personality yet. He was very obviously ill when I brought him home. He has been flip flopping on acting better some days and not others. We ha...

Re: New information about Chester

Thanks for all of the suggestions!! I have to say there is no way he would ever go inside of the crate on his own. We would be waiting until the cows came home. If he even sees the crate he starts screaming. And really there is no one food that he loves either. He's off and on with what he likes, so...

New information about Chester

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I posted about Chester, so I thought I would update and ask a few questions. After his vet check http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19326 he was doing very well and I believed that it was just stress due to the move. However, he started s...

Chester's check up

Chester had his vet appt. on Monday and everything has checked out okay. She thought he was just in shock from the major change. He's been doing great ever since. I do have a question. He's been traveling around the outside of his cage more lately and seems to be very interested in getting on my par...

Progress

I posted the other day about my recently adopted Chester. Well, our vet appt is tomorrow morning but he has seemed to have "snapped" out of the funk he was in. He's not regurgitating (or vomiting) like he did on Thursday morning. He's waking up and eating right away and vocalizing a lot mo...

Re: Favorite colo?

I think green is the best because it is as nature intended. I have a blue and a yellow... blue is striking to me, but in principal I think green is the best. I would pay more for a green than a mutation. I absolutely agree! The Greens are beautiful and I was only looking for personality when I chos...

Re: 6 Month old Grey IR

With a lot of time and patience, I personally believe every bird can be tamed and be friends with humans. I say go for it, but please do expect a lot of time to be spent and a lot of patience to be had on both your parts! :)

Re: does ur irn have a bedtime?

I have two Parrotlets, along with Chester. They go to bed every night between 5:30 PM & 6:30 PM. I turn off their artificial light at 7:30 PM and cover them at 8 PM. During the week I am up at 6:00 AM doing skin kid, furry kid and feathered friend duties and then I work from home all day. Cheste...

Re: Favorite colo?

When I knew I was going to look for an IRN last weekend and knew they had color choices, I was thinking yellow and low and behold I found my Chester!

Re: determining age of an IRN

You can try to resize your photos. I had to do that this morning about 6 times before I got it down to 94 kbs.

Questions from a newbie

Hi, I introduced myself and Chester in the "introduce yourself" section this morning. http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19295 Anyway, I believe his color to be a Lutino Lacewing. Correct me if I am wrong. None-the-less it doesn't matter, I picked him because of hi...

New here with my new friend - Chester

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and my newly adopted friend, Chester. I just brought him home last Saturday, he is about 2 years old and has never lived in a home. We are working on that. Upon first sight I knew he was the one for me. I have attached a picture of him. If anyone can ca...
