Putting up my IRN for adoption soon.

Hello everyone. I've had an IRN for about 5 years now. I got it when it was barely 50 days old. I hand raised it and it became an excellent talker. However, its been almost a year now and all my bird loves doing is whistle, that's about it. I've tried everything but nothing seems to bring back the p...

Does not talk on hand.

My IRN simply refuses to talk whilst perched on my hand. He does respond to whistling (perhaps that is his favorite mode of communication) but does not say any words. However, when he is sitting in his cage or on his favorite chair, he will pour out all his vocabulary without any hesitation. I have ...

Re: Eating News Paper

My bird just shreds them and throws them away in his water cup.
I think it's a fairly common behavior.

Re: Strange behavior

I got a new pair of shoes recently. I opened them up in front of my bird (named Chotu) and before I could appreciate the shoe, chotu threw in a few words of appreciation :o . You are right these birds are unique in nature.

Strange behavior

Hi everyone. I last posted on this forum when I got my 50 day old Indian ring neck chick. It has grown up to be a graceful bird. :D :D . Bright colors and a lovely temperament. The ring has also started to emerge. Lately I've started to notice something. It may not seem odd to many but to me it is q...

Question regarding Indian ring neck behavior

Hello everyone. I've got a green IRN that I hand raised since it was 1.5 months old. I must say this little bird is unbelievable. I was a big fan of the african grey (I have a talking hand tamed AG) and other exotic breeds when it comes to talking. This bird surprised me with its talking vocabulary....

2 month old IRN attacking.

My IRN is exhibiting behavior I'm not used to when it comes to a bird of this age. I placed it inside a cage and when I wanted to take it out some time later, it attacked my hand. Although it's beak is still not trained to bite my hand off (joking), still I was surprised that it did so. Once the bir...

Got a 2 month old IRN (green).

I previously owned a tamed Fischer and have an African grey at the moment.

A friend of mine gave me a 2 month old IRN. Just wondering if it'd be easy to tame it? I hand feed it. Someone told me it's quite difficult to tame chicks more than a month old
