Re: Price for cobalt and violet
A Violet (sf) would usually sell for $400 to $500, a (DF) Violet would sell for around $600 to $800 and the Cobalt is the expensive one in the bunch that bird sells usually around $1000 to $ 1,400.
Hope this helps

Re: First Eggs Of The Season
Yes I agree with Ben & Molossus, as Indian Ringneck breeders we have forgotten the purity of these birds. As more and more breeders breed coloured birds the purity of the Ringnecks is vanishing fast and the outcome of that is weaker & weaker birds are being bred constantly and that results i...

Re: First Eggs Of The Season
Thankyou Ben I just don't know what could cause the death of the chicks, I live in Melbourne Victoria and the weather here has been a bit cold recently maybe that could also play a part in chicks death. Lets just hope that she lays again and hopefully we don't experience the same problem again, I ha...

Re: Purple ringneck
Guys I dont think its a Violetcobalt, because I own a Violetcobalt and it does not look like this bird. The Violetcobalt IRN has kinda got some grey colouring to it. I'm not really sure but I think there is a Cinnamon factor to this bird.

Re: how to breed for violets
I think the best way to breed violets is to find a violet male and a violet female, then you can breed Double factor violets or you can get a violet male and pair him to a blue female.

Re: Breeding IRN
I live in Victoria Australia, over here we dont need license to keep IRN but however yes you do need a basic wildlife license to keep native Australiain birds. For ringnecks you dont need a license to breed ringnecks.

Thats also what I told him, I said you cant breed anything good from your pair, because the greygreen will mask and kill off the violet colour. Oh yeah he was also considering to put his Violetblue Male to a Green Lacewing Hen but i dont know what he will get?.
Thanks guys.
