ah cool stuff...would love to work in or own a pet store....i gotta try and get my little guy to start liking to be touched....still bites but i keep ignoring it...is mainly when i get him to step up or try to pat him.i can usually stop him by stroking his beak between my fingers.

Ahhh the wave might be the next one for Tiki as he puts his foot up a bit too...or possibly the retrieve one....lol....thinking seriously about the harness hey because even tho we clipped his wings he can still fly...i really wouldnt want to lose him so i dont even think about taking him outside at...

Hi there Dayne.....The turn around thing is where you ask them to spin around and they do(well eventually anyway) just a little trick..There are a few posts on here explaining how to techthem.But its something that doesnt require you to touch the bird at all,only to put them on a t stand or somethi...

Well had another session yesterday afternoon and then this morning also.....this morning i didnt even have to show him the food in my hand to get him to turn around and towards the end he would turn around most times with just me asking him to turn around....Im so happy with him

Mine loves grained bread,so im using that as a treat for training so far....as food im using pellets and little bit of seed every so often...and orange sweet potato and pumpkin and apple and grapes...i just keep alternating so he doesnt get bored with it all....im going to try him on brocoli soon a...

Well today Tiki had his first official training session....At first he wasnt really interested in what was happening...I think because it was a new room he was in and a few noises outside(wild birds and our dogs making noise) and i was beginning to think i was wasting my time but then all of sudden...

I really want to start training but all he is interested in doing is flying off everywhere unless he is on top of his cage...Then when gets bored of being on cage flies to top of my fishtank lol

My guy will always step up from anywhere he flies to....Probably scares himself when flies.....Seems he can still fly as good as before wings were clipped ...we left 4 flight feathers on outer edge of each wing so i think thats the problem...Might cut it down to 2 on each

hmmmmm seems didnt clip enough off wings as Tiki can still fly quite well ....little fella was tricking us yesterday when got wings clipped....First time he could still fly so clipped a couple more feathers then he couldnt fly but now today he can again

yeah really needs to be something he doesnt get all the time....when i first got mine i tried him on the bread and he absolutely loved it so i decided not to give it to him all the time...maybe try him on some dried fruit like sultanas or something...saw someone on a training video using cheese als...

Yay getting wings clipped tomorrow...The breeder i got Tiki off is going to do it....he wasnt that confident doing it before as he doesnt usually clip his birds but he has done a few of his recently and hasnt had a problem so he contacted me today and im going in there tomorrow afternoon.....so gla...

he kept knawing until beak broke the skin...didnt really bleed.just took few layers of skin off my forefinger lol.....he latches on when i sometimes go to get him to step up...he very vocal today....calling out a lot.

Hi there...Oh that is so sad...Im glad you rescued them at least....Shame one died but glad other one is going well...Chances are it may never fly if it has never been out of cage in that long....may never have been allowed to fly when it was a baby either....I love this site too hey....So much awe...
