Hi guys! More or less at what age does 'n lutino irn's beak start changing colour/get darker?
Rusty's (11 week old lutino) beak is still very light in colour, not the same dark red as I see in some other photos on the forum!
Please let me have your thoughts on this!
Thank you!

Re: Aviator Harness
I would love to try it, but it seems they are not available in south africa. Have searched the internet for suppliers, but I will have to order it online.
Rusty is only 10 weeks old, so suppose s/he is a bit young.

Re: URGENT HELP!!! Great escape planned
Yeah, I am trying. Unfortunately I live in a very small town with very limited choice and stock. I will have to wait until I can get to the city. In the meanwhile we have closed the cage off with some mesh wire. Hanging himself is my biggest concern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefulle the mesh will work.

URGENT HELP!!! Great escape planned
Hi people! I need your urgent help please! My 7 week old irn suddenly discovered that his head fits through the bars of his cage - he now insists to keep on trying to fit his whole body through the bars. So, he got stuck this morning, if it was not for my partner being at home he would have been stu...

Re: Sleeps alot
Hi blueberrybird! I must say, even though most people object against it, I am very glad I got my irn so young. Sure, I had my moments of panic and of worry. Regardless of the advise you get you still worry that you are doing things right! But I am telling you, nothing beats the feeling of wellbeing ...

Just waiting for him to realise he can pick stuff up with his feet! He's very amused with them!  Must be great knowing everythi...

Re: Sleeps alot
Hi Rod and phildez! Thank you for your very late response to my relatively inexperienced question! You can both relax your panties as my irn grew up to be a healthy and strong little one. He is flying and playing happily in his cage. And it seems he has weaned himself - he is on only one feeding in ...

I will upload some photos on facebook, then you can also see Rusty. For some unknown reason the board does not allow images.

Taylor, I sent you a friend request on facebook. Annalize Burger. At 5 weeks mine has the same amount of feathers yours had at 6 weeks. I am sure my breeder is wrong. I did ask her again. She insist that he hatched on 20 Sept.

Re: How old should a IRN be before they eat seed?
Hi tdk15. I find this very funny - I am sure my breeder made a mistake with his age. He is almost fully feathered, only this bum and part of his chest that does not have feathers. Mine has been walking around since I got him, at 3weeks (according to the breeder). I am sure they made a mistake with h...

Re: How old should a IRN be before they eat seed?
Hi chickencroley! The other day I posted a question asking if it is okay if I give my (then) 4week old irn some fruit. The answer was yes, not a problem. He is now 5weeks old and he loves his fruit and veg. I now placed some pellets in a small see-through bowl in his cage. He is not really eating it...

Hi there! My 31day old lutino irn sleeps alot. He is only awake for about an hour before feedings. Is this normal? Should I worry? Also, during the day he is in a small cage at my office (seeing that I still have to feed him) and in a much bigger cage during the afternoon and night. He is not moving...

Re: 24day old Lutino IRN
Thank you! It seems he is ready to eat fruit. From what age do they start fledging and when can I start feeding him seeds? Sorry for all the questions, this is the first time I handrear a IRN or any bird for that matter and I don't want to do anything wrong. I am still feeding him phase 1 handrearin...
