Re: whats a good cage mate?
Conures are more cuddly than ringnecks I believe, and my sun conures get along well for the most part with my ringneck, however they do not share a cage, so I don't know how that would go. It would just take time for them to get acquainted before being housed together. It's best to do it while your ...

I had him out just a few minutes ago. I practiced having him step up for my husband (victim of biting, and doesn't like the bird now) and then praised him when he sat on his finger nicely, and then had him step onto my finger and praised him again. Everything seemed to be well. He was walking around...

Re: Male hormonal aggression??
I am against clipping as well, and all three of my birds can fly. Clipping would be my last resort and I only considered it because when he flies, he lands on my family members and they do not want him to because of the random biting. I feel like I can't get him out as much because of that, cause he...

Its hard to tell if its from being overstimulated because it is so random. He will be talking one minute and then lunging the next. Its really very sad because he's so loved by the family, but I am the only one that trusts him now because of it.

My ringneck Buddy is going to be 2 years old in March. He has always been the sweetest bird and loves people, and has never bitten anyone, including myself. How old is your bird? It sounds like you are doing a great job. With time and patience you will gain your bird's trust. Be sure to move slowly when near your bird, as birds startle very easily. This will help keep him calm in the process. Good luck!!
