Re: How long do you leave your IRN alone in its cage all day
Good day I personally would not have a bird that is caged all / most of the day. My 3 flocks are out 8-10 hours weekdays, and longer if they wish on the weekends, due to my wife working early days and myself working afternoons. I do put them in the cages when I leave for work, and my wife lets them ...

Re: New IRN owner from Canada
Good for on the 3 month old, they are beautiful birds, as for the furniture, he is not out without supervision. Four hours in the morning, and another 4 in the late afternoon, with an all day pass Saturday and Sunday except for power naps.
Good luck with your new bird.

Well folks, I got lucky, lol. Ringer beds down at 830-9pm nightly and wakes up with 2-3 Good morning screeches at about 8-830pm. We may get 1/2 a dozen more screams throughout the day, but other then that a "fairly" quiet bird who talks his beak off. He loves to perch on us, and does not l...

Hello
I would agree with "not" clipping, I have raised feathered friends for 15 years and have never clipped wings, and, never lost a bird, or had had a death due to flying into a window etc...........be aware of yours and the birds surroundings at all times.

Ah, so sorry,
I have limited experience with IRN's, but, I would say territorial instinct/ mothers instinct to protect. Did they interact peacefully before the tragedy?
Again, so sorry for that, it must of been devastating

Re: New IRN owner from Canada
Morning, Definitely his last home, I could not understand giving up a pet after 15 years either, but, that's some folks, he has done an exploratory nibble on my desk and I simply said "no, no" and he stopped. If a bird is chewing table legs its usually a matter of training and distraction ...

New IRN owner from Canada
Good day to all. Received my IRN last week, currently in his 7th day of isolation from my flock, 4 budgies and 11 lovebirds, at 1 time we had 27, all hand raised. Ringer is 15 years old, previous owner gave him up due to his eating their furniture, came with a beautiful high tower cage and lots of t...
