Rest in Peace Mango :(
It is with a heavy broken heart that I have to say that our beautiful African Ringneck, Mango, has made the flight over rainbow bridge. I have no idea what happened to him, he was fine yesterday and then today he was found on the bottom of his cage weak and unresponsive. I held him for his fin...

Re: Yay!! I can finally show off my babies!
Thank you guys! It is actually a funny story how their names came to be, we rescued Mango from a very abusive, bad relationship...so he already had the name and responded well to it. So when we got Kiwi, we figured it would be sort of funny to have the fruity names! :D Mango has shown marked improve...

Re: African Ringneck
I am not an expert on either, however I own both an IRN and ARN. The most notable difference is their beaks, obviously, the IRN has a large orangeish beak and the ARN has a dark cherry colored beak. What I have noticed from personal experience is that my ARN is smaller than my IRN. My IRN is still a...

Human of choice
I have often heard that birds will pick a human in the house to be more attached to...I have never experienced this before though, often our birds would like both my husband and I...that is until we got Kiwi! He is definitely a Mommy's bird <3 I just wanted to share some of the greatness that is Kiw...

Re: Anyone on here who lives in Southern California?
I am in Northern California, Sacramento, but I have friends in SoCal who may be interested. Just to make sure I am correct, you are looking to re-home your IRN?

Re: Hello from Illinois!
Hi Kelly!! Very nice to meet you! We just got our first IRN 3 days ago, though we have a ARN and have had conures, cockatiels and love birds in the past. We absolutely adore these birds, they are as amazing as research leads to believe! :D You will not regret the decision to get one. I am in Califor...

My African Ringneck - Mango!
Hello Everyone! I am glad I found a thread specifically for ARN's as it seems I was duped last year into thinking my ARN was an IRN! :D Mango is a sweet heart bird, though he comes from a very sad & abusive past. We had lost our beautiful Jenday Conure (Stryker) last year, and were looking for a...

The UK is beautiful, though I have not seen nearly as much as I would have liked to. My Husband has Scottish roots so we...

Hello From NorCal!
Hi everybody! Name is Krissi and I reside in the Sacramento region of California. I am originally from Germany and am happily married to a United States Soldier. I have had birds my entire life, though I usually stuck with Cockatiels and Conures. I recently got what I thought was an Indian Ringneck ...
