Re: HELP!!
Tinus this is not aimed at you ... but to birdkeepers as a whole. do not give your birds antibiotics just because. this has a negative impact on the overall development of the bird and compromises its own immune system. to a point where birds are completely reliant on medication , seeing as their i...

Thanks you so much Molossus! Really do appreciate the info and suggestions, my boys mean the world to me, I've organised some disolvable antibiotics which also have added calsium effects and so on to their water, they both seem really healthy and happy, but you can never be too sure..

Re: HELP!!
Tinus it sounds as if you have pigeon fly issues. they are flat, fast moving, flying blood suckers and can be easily dealt with. go to any pigeon supply specialist and they will help. treatment can be Ivomec spray , karbadusting etc. these are bloodsucking parasites that have been known to cause ps...

This morning I took my 2 pet ringnecks out for a walk in the part, got back, and the moment I put my little white baby down I saw this thing running 3-4 times across hes back, at first I thought it was a spider, I got absolutely ice cold, panicked and yelled, took him to the bath and washed him off ...

Re: Hi there fellow IRN owners!
Sounds awesome! Re: My pride and joy
Yup I'm 25, i like that you say its your job to give them the best care you can offer, if only every person felt that way who decided to get pets.. I get so sad when i see people getting pets, loving them as babies, and then kinda go on with their lives and just give them a pat here and there, they ...

I tried, uploaded to imageshack, it still tells me to remove my offsite url's and that my post looks spammy for a new user.
I'm curious to know, are your ringnecks cuddly as well? Mine aren't at all, as lovable as they are, they are 'hands off'

Re: Hi there fellow IRN owners!
Not all of them get along. They have their scuffles...believe me lol. But they have wings so if they don't like someone, they can fly elsewhere. They know who they can and can't play with. Who will and won't bite them  I have additional perches in other rooms for them to escape to also. Usual...

You said your birds were flight recall trained? how did you train them? i'd also like to know the best way in teaching them to talk!

Re: Scared me to near death. I climbed a fence.
Similar thing happened to me, i had both my boys on my shoulder and took a walk outside with them, decided to take the garbage out while i was heading outside, as i dumped the trash Paulie got a fright and fluttered off right across the street and landed closed to the pavement, then the moment HE fl...

Re: Hi there fellow IRN owners!
It is indeed! its always nice to hear what other people do to make their birds feel more comfortable, and then hearing what the bird's reaction was, in the end i think it goes back to basics, let your bird be, while taking the necessary precautions and looking after them, thats the only way the bird...

Re: Hi there fellow IRN owners!

Re: Hi there fellow IRN owners!
I did consider that, thing is though that the animals get hurt, flying into windows etc, then they get stressed, it's a little too dangerous in my opinion, they seem very happy though, jumping around climbing up everything and having a ball with their toys, constantly grinding their beaks, especiall...
