Re: a few questions
ja hahahahaha. He still bites my nails, as well as his own! It's so funny. My friends call him a nervous breakdown waiting to happen. I also found the best way to keep him busy. I took his basket of toys and put it on top of his cage. He loves taking them out, one by one, and throwing them off his c...

Re: is our ringneck becoming ill?
Like Taywer321 said, it might be from their own dust. My bird did it as well and my vet suggested spaying him with diluted Savlon. Now every time my bird baths I grab the bottle and spay him with that. It helps with the itchy nose and skin. He's become a very happy bird. We also spray the bottom of ...

Re: Tender Loving Care
I haven't posted here in a while, but I thought I should share this :) Mielieboy is Molting! (not sure about the spelling :? ) I really wasn't expecting anything, but I walked into the study this afternoon, only to find a ringneck with a very short tail, and a bald patch on his head! He looks so cu...

Re: traveling with an IRN
My bird does the exact same thing when we go outside! just looks at everything :) I'm sure your baby will be fine. As long as he's used to the car and cage, he'll be comfortable. Maybe it will help if you stop once in a while and just let him relax, because I know my bird gets tired from all the swa...

Re: traveling with an IRN
Hi! The smaller cage is a good idea, and try putting him where he can see you. Put on some music that he likes. My IRN travels with me in the car when we go to town, it took awhile, but he got used to it. Try driving short distances with your bird in the small cage, so that he can get used to the ca...

Re: Tender Loving Care
Ok, I took the video, but we have been having trouble with our internet connection, so Youtube will have to wait:)
I think I need to take a new one though, because Mielieboy also says "Love You" before he goes to sleep. I don't know what happened, but my bird turned into a chatterbox!

RIP little guy I'm still working on a video, but Mielieboy changes his attitude we he sees the camera! Such a little actor  Maybe I should take him to Hollywood! Re: Tender Loving Care
Mielieboy is fine! Thank Goodness :D I talked to my vet and he think that as long as they weren't sharing a cage or food or anything like that he'll be fine. He also recommended that i watch Mielieboy for any sign of respiratory trouble, but otherwise he should be fine. He is pretty confident that i...

Re: Tender Loving Care
Unfortunately the baby died this morning. I'm phoning the vet in a bit to see if our to parrots are in any danger. We found her dead in her cage, so we don't know if it was a disease or trauma from falling out of the nest. Maybe even dehydration or something....... Mielieboy and my dad's parrot(pies...

He is quite the superstar! He's very mad at me today, cause a friend of my dad picked up a wild baby bird (cape glass eye) and bought it to me, because I have raised a lot of wild birds  It's very little and requires all my attention, so my ringneck is feeling very lost  I'll be sure to u...

Hi
Try checking out the breeding section.
There's a lot of experienced breeders that will be willing to help. Also try searching the phrase "weaning".
Hope this helps

Travelling
Hello
I'm travelling to visit family tomorrow and my baby is staying at home with my parents. I've only had him for a month and I was wondering if we would lose the bond that has started building between us? or will he maybe start preferring my mom?
Thanx
Anri

Thanks guys! I think there might be something in my room that bothers him, because he only does this when his cage is standing there. I've moved him to the living room and he's very happy. Re: PLEASE HELP, FAST!
Hi Ellie. i think you may be right. That would explain why he only does it when I'm sleeping. I also think it might be some kind of bug thats bothering him.
I'm seriously considering taking him to a vet, because there are some things bothering me, I'll ask the vet what he thinks.
Thanx
Anri

It happened again today. This time it was broad daylight and he was just sitting on his cage. I wasn't feeling well so I took a nap. I've had my Mielieboy for 3 weeks now and he has become such an adorable little bird! Re: a few questions
I felt so sorry for my baby today. It was his first time in a different cage(his traveling cage) and he was so scared! Piesang is getting so jealous now, because Fladder is starting to like my dad. Last night they were both sitting on his shoulder because I wasn't home. It actually went well, but Fladder knows Piesang is boss I wish I could post the photo here, but I only have it on my Cellphone.

OMW! My bird's are so funny. My dad owns a Pionus parrot(Piesang) and obviously I have my IRN(Fladder). My dad's bird is very territorial so we keep them in different rooms. Re: a few questions
No there aren't any smokers in the house.
Fladder seems to be responding well to the new name, every time I say it he'll cock his head to one side and listen to me.
He's getting really sweet, and my dad is looking for a suitable branch for his new play gym.
