Joey's Behavior

So, things have been going well for Joey. Except, for the fact she absolutely refuses to grow a tail . But lately she has been performing some weird behaviors (or I should say NEW). First off, she loves to perch on my head. She comes down with no problem and she is never aggressive when on my ...

Joey only really likes to be petted during snuggle time. If it is not snuggle time, petting is not permitted. Joey will growl at you if you do not obey the rules. I don't push it, it is up to her whether she wants to be petted or not. Some birds just don't like it.

Ring?

This is a recent picture of Joey. She is currently going through a molt and I have noticed a slight ring appearing. Is this a female ring? Joey was DNA sexed female, but I am still kinda wondering... Joey is about seven months old. Also, Joey has grey eyes, but the "whites" are red or pink...

Just as a reference here is a picture of Freddy. He has the purple/pink color/blue of the male albino cere (they are a little bit different, they don't normally turn blue like normal males). You can also see his florescent coloring around his tummy, legs, and tail in the picture. http://i1146.photob...

It sounds to me like you have a little boy! Fred has purple/pink/blue cere. Sorry my warning scared you  . I'm sure Fred's age could have something to do with that too, he about 7 1/2 years old. Albinos can have a little bit of coloring. Sometimes you may notice a slight shadowing on the wings...

When ever my birds eat red pellets and this color seems to be a favorite, they have a brick-red poop. It is normal. When Sam went through his purple pellet phase, he had purplish poop  . In case you were worried about blood, the feces would be black in color, if internal bleeding was present.

Normally the birds are in travel cages in the backseat when we take trips. One time I took Sammy to pick my bf up from work. On the ride home I let him sit on my shoulder. I think I was deaf by the time I got home, he was screaming "weeeee!" with joy the whole way.
