IRN picking at legs and feet.
Lately my 2 and 1/2 year old female IRN has had very dry irritated legs and feet. She has began to pick at them util they bleed which has me quite worried. She's been treated for mites recently so I can't imagine that would be the cause. Are there any remedies for her dry skin? Any help would be muc...

Strange vocalisations?
Lately my Ringneck has been making some very unusual sounds. One of which I like to call the 'poopie sound'. I know this may sound odd but she tends to make this noise after biting me or doing something naughty. It sound very similar to a farting noise, where did she pick this up? Is it a sign of an...

Re: Keeping my bird from becoming lonely
Hi, I'm new to this site, so if this is the wrong place to post this, I apologize. I have an albino Indian Ringneck named Jasmine. She is quite tame, and the most lovely bird I have ever had! I worry about her when I am gone at work or out with friends or whatever. I live alone, so when I am gone s...

Re: I think my Indian Ringneck might be sick.
I'm no expert...and I'm not giving advice to replace that of a vet. Not sure if you feed her lots of veggies, but to me it sounds like a vitamin A deficiency. Does she have white patches on her tongue? Usually sickness as you're describing would be related to diet deficiencies. Ringnecks need to be...

Re: I think my Indian Ringneck might be sick.
Hey, Do make sure you take your bird to an avian vet. A cat and dog vet who treats birds is really a waste of money, from my experience. Birds do tend to hide their symptoms well, and avian vets are aware of this, and will generally try to fit an opportunity to see a potentially life threatening ca...

I think my Indian Ringneck might be sick.
Lately my Indian Ringneck, Marcy has been acting really strangely. She won't interact with me, she'll just sit on my shoulder and stare into space. She is usually very playful and active (not to mention vocal). Also when she tries to squawk it her voice shuts off mid way through her call. Her feces ...

A bit about me and my bird, Marcy.
About a month ago I brought home my new Indian Ringneck. At the time I believed I was purchasing a lovely little boy called Elvis. I soon found out I had brought home what I thought to be a horrible feisty biting little girl which I soon named Marcy. At first I thought I had made a horrible mistake ...

I need help with my bird's aggression.
Hello all, I recently purchased my pet ringneck from an online seller. I had spent a lot of time talking to the seller and getting to know everything about the bird and was assured that it was a loving 2 year old male who occasionally nipped... Little did I know that in fact it was actually a female...
