Hi Rick, Your comment that it could be a a violet grey green made me think of an alternative I didn't consider. The hen could in fact be a grey green, but masking violet. Hi Rick,
Judging by your breeding results, and the colours of the parents, I believe you have a violet green pallid hen. This explains the violet chick and the other appears to be a violet green misty.
Cheers.

G'Day Rick, You're right on the money with this bird. I agree that he is a greygreen pallidino, and the pairing proves this. Under normal circumstances a lutino cock can't produce a pallid cock, and a pallid hen can only produce split cocks. The in between lutino and pallid phenotype is all the proo...

Hi Mokhan65, As the male is Green/lutino (yellow), you are going to be limited as to the colours you can produce. You do still have some options, with colours that are dominant, that will give you other green series colours. You can use grey, violetblue, and DarkBlue. With these you'll produce greyg...

Looking at the parents, from the photos, they both appear to be sf violets. All the photos with chicks seem to be taken with flash, which doesn't give a true representation of their colour. Turquoise is not evident in either parent, and therefore the chicks can't be turquoise either. The flash could...

Hi Samuel, Yes it's possible to have albino cleartail. Since they are both visual cleartails, the two albino youngsters are genetically albino clea...
