Re: IRN and iPhone
Thanks for all the blessings to let Remy play with our phones  I hope she grows bored of it soon because she will have weird cellular radiation disease one day or something she plays with it more than we do! I honestly think the appeal is because she sees us using them so much, she cant bear th...

Look at that pretty girl :D My poor boy is still molting. It's been a tough long road for him. But Remy looks great :) We went a couple of weeks bathing her every other day - to the point of completely draining the water bottle and she was sopping wet and wanting more. Then we would put her in fron...

Re: Should we continue to pet our IRN during mating season?
It could be as simple as her sleeping perch was disturbed. I may change my cages up occasionally, but I never disturb their sleeping perch. It's the one constant that I allow them in the cage. It's possible that Remy will once again be comfortable with going back once she gets used to her sleep per...

All, another concern came up over the past two weeks regarding the whole prevention on breeding. Over the past two months, Remy has been getting comfortable with us and started putting herself to bed at night. Hi all, there was an older post from a couple months back in the introduction section (http://www.indianringneck.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17158&hilit=ipad), so I thought rather than hijacking that thread, I'd start a new one here from one of ellie's reponses. This was about someone's IR...

I'll add what we think so far even though we've only had Remy since April of this year 1) female (we think as we are assuming this on the female mating stance when we pet her) 2) yes - she bit us every time we tried getting her to step up for about 2-3 weeks after we first got her. but it could have...

All, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the assurance with Remy's molting. That's great! I can't wait to see some videos. The next important step is to cue the behaviour without showing her the treat beforehand. Remy now turns around on cue, but she definitely knows she gets a treat out of it, so she expects to be rewarded, which is fine right? I have a bit of an issue te...

Niff, This is the cage Rocky primarily uses now. I'm a huge fan of it and I promote it to everyone. I found it strikes a balance between what I want and what I can manage. It is very easy to maintain, and I love the extra touch of the nest box door high on the side. That is Rocky's personal door. H...

From my observations, there seem to be two main sorts of foraging toys that interest my guys. The ones that require brain power and the ones that require persistence. Is there a way she could go to work with you a couple of days per week? You could also manipulate the lighting in the winter a bit. As the sun is going down at 4-5 have a sun lamp on a timer turn on. DNA is not that expensive. About $20 from avian biotech. Regardless of cost though, some people are just not lucky enough to have a DNA'd bird when they get him/her. One more thought, a little out of the box - For screening your deck, how about second hand actual screen doors?
