Re: how to breed pied blue

Hi Matt To breed a blue ADM pied you would need to have the pied gene . ADM pied is ressive . IE you would need the gene in both parent birds Blue/ Pied , blue pied or green/blue/pied . As you can see there are many roads that lead to Rome , The question is what can you find and what can you afford ...

Re: Can (turquoise/emerald) Parblue ever be a Dominant Mutat

Yes , I agree the point i was trying to make

Dominant will be visual , where turquoise being co dominant can and is then also possable in birds not showing the turquoise mutation .
So in answering your question (In the turquoise range ) It can't be a dominant mutation

Hi pizzaguru

I think you should let them be . I dont think they will breed but If they want to breed let them .
I have had pairs mating in summer and nothing came of it .

Re: my ringneck just laid eggs

If I were you I would look at the nest box. I.E : How deep is the box ? Are you providing the Female with a climbing post or is she jumping to get out of the nest ? (This could also hurt the young , "spread legs" Is she skittish when you go near her ? (Flys into the box when you get near or flys out...

Re: Difference between DF voilet and Cobalt

It depends what you want to breed out of the birds. If you want to breed Violets then the DF Violet would be my option. DF violet Blue with a Blue partner will give you 100% Violet Blue Babys. If you want to breed the dark factor then the cobalt Violet would be my option . In saying that I would sti...

Re: Photos of Pied Ino

I think it would be a bad decision to pair the above as I will still not prove the Hens other SL splits.
Back to the drawing board

but I would still like to see the photos of Pied Ino's if anyone has any .

Re: Photos of Pied Ino

Guys Thanks for The response .I was thinking in the same lines as Johan was thinking I have a Pied Green / Ino/?Blue Cock and a Ino Blue hen (I need to test the hen as she may have other splits in her , and I also need to test the Cock for the split Blue) so I thought to put them together and see wh...

Re: new to here

Hi Ziggy Have you tried to let a child go near the bird . I would put a table near the bird and let a child or even a few kids sit and play or colour for a few hours without them interacting with the bird . I will keep doing this for a few days NB: dont let the bird stress out too much , Once the bi...

Re: SL Edged

I have a turquoise grey SL edged that displays in the same way going from light grey to a dirty white (depending on the sun position)
I dont have many edges in my collection and I have not looked at the tail , I will check as soon as I have a chance and give feed back then

Re: puting a male and female together

My advice to you is to put the hen with the cock and not the other way around as the hen could be agressive in her own terretory . It wont matter when you put them together , but I would watch them carefully for a day or so after they put together , Remember they all fight with each other but if it ...

Re: Dead chicks

I think you should look at the position of your nestbox . If the air can flow directly into your box and the tempreture changes rapidly , Hot days with cold nights , This might be your problem . If the sun shines directly onto your nestbox , it could also heat the nest to a tempreture that kills the...

I dont think you will be able to tell the diffrence unless you test breed.

If you go to direct sunlight with the bird you might see a tinge of colour on the rump of the bird
