Rich, enjoying her new tree...
Just want to share Rich as she enjoys the new tree which I made for her today... this tree is a branch of a guava tree... I still have to fill this with toys... http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p626/leoanyayahan/Rich/DSC_0193.jpg http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p626/leoanyayahan/Rich/DSC_0185...

Re: Odd baby behavior
Yeah, I agree with Ellie, your IRN is still a baby at 3 months and still needs a parent care which she is asking from your cockatiel. It's not in anyway alarming, it's cute.

Re: UPSIDE DOWN TRICK... new trick learned by Rich
Any advice for how you got Rich to hang upside down? seems like a good starting point for us to try with Remy since its the least hand contact trick we could aim for? the first time I tried the trick, I made her feel very comfortable when she steps up on my finger., then I would pet her and hold he...

Rich is 5 - 6 months old. (not very sure of age, since I only acquired her from a second owner too, who told me she was 3 - 4 months old). I have her since March 1, 2013.jmlw7 wrote:awww so cute! How long have you had Rich and how old is he? He looks like my Remy

I thought about training Skye to pick up dirty socks and put them in the basket. But knowing him he'd take it back to his cage and make it his girlfriend  Congrats on the turn around trick. Proud of Rich! (She learned another trick)
I just want to share another trick Rich has recently learned. I am really so proud of her. She learned the "TURN AROUND" trick in just two days. Actually the first day I taught her the trick, we consumed about 15 minutes and that was yesterday. Just today when I arrived home, I saw her exc...

Leo, are you using a clicker? -MissK No MissK, I just give treats ( sunflower seeds) Rich is 6 months old, Ellie. Here's a short video of Rich, though the video shows that she also uses her bill to approach me, normally, she will just raise her right foot: http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p626/l...

I am so happy with the new development on my Rich. I taught her how to shake hands and in just 20 minutes, she learned the trick. I am so amazed on how fast my baby learned it. When I say "SHAKE HANDS", she now knows how to raise her right foot and touch my finger. Aside from this, she now...

Congratulations for making your bird talk. How I wish my Rich would do the same. All she does yet is whistle the "sexy whistle" and some sounds I don't recognize. But I am hoping one day I will hear her talk and say "hello", the word I always say to her. Rich is 6 months old. Is ...

Remember that the key word to win the trust of our feathered friends is "PATIENCE". That is what I learned from this site and believe me, it worked for me and my Rich. I only have her for over a month ( I acquired her last March 1, 2013 and she was four months old then) as a totally untame...

Re: any tips on talking?
On the average, how long will it take an IRN to mutter its first word from the time you teach him/her to talk? and considering too, that the IRN is at a young age, say less than one year old? Also presume that he/she is a talker (coz some say there are IRN's who never talk at all)

Hi, I also have at first, an untamed IRN who is 5 or more months old (one and 1/2 months ago). When she arrives at home, the first of things I did was to put her in her cage which is located at our living room where she constantly sees us. She was so quiet and seemed fearful of me. I searched the ne...

For the last 2 days, Rich is not biting me anymore
I am so happy to share that Rich seems to stop biting anymore. I hope the bluffing stage in her life is over and will never come again. Last time i handled Rich to play, I placed her near a mirror and she regurgitated, why did she do that? Does she want to feed her image? Is this a sign that she really is a "she"? Is she becoming a young adult now?

It's been quite a time, Rich is becoming more aggressive than I expected. After a while I thought the biting would be over, since she now steps on my finger on step up command and would remain there for long. she even sleeps on my fingers. Then suddenly again, I find it unbearable, I mean the biting...

Hi Guys, I am from Philippines, and in here, only few pet stores sell pellets which are manufactured for parrots or to IRN's in particular. but most of stores here sell pigeons pellet because many here are rearing pigeons instead. Is it not hard to breed Ringnecks? I just started to rear an IRN, starting from a 4-month IRN. I still dont know if it's a male or a female. I want to tame it first before I buy another to pair him.
Is it still possible for him to bond to another bird even if he already is tamed?
