Re: My Story Of Taming!! ----- MUST READ -------
I can't help but cringe when reading your comments. Clipping a bird to force it to be dependant on you sounds like Stockholm Syndrome to me. I had an aviary bird too, and it took me about a month to get Orion to the point where he would lay on his back, play dead, fetch, love being petted, etc. I di...

Re: why is it?
I've owned two ringnecks and found them to be very tame and friendly. There are two things that I don't believe people account for. First, bluffing in ringnecks is probably the most notorious puberty stage of any pet bird species save for the larger cockatoos. Once a ringneck starts acting out like ...

Re: Zephyr is a fatty!
Are you consistent in weighing him? Because they are so small, the difference in weighing a bird before he eats and after he eats can be great. Also, if he hasn't been eating in awhile and goes to the bathroom alot, that will also cause a drop in weight.

My Shame
A terrible string of events happened this weekend, and it's my fault. I purchased a budgie to give to a friend for his birthday (I made sure he wanted and was ready for one first). Well, he lived out of town and wouldn't be able to pick it up for a week. I took the week to tame the budgie, who I had...

Re: How long does the bluffing stage last?
Mine has started bluffing for two weeks now, and boy is it bad. It doesn't help that he's molting his head feathers, which is upsetting him also. He's 7 months old and is just having wild mood swings, being aggressive with me, his toys, angry preening, etc. So far he hasn't had any aggression toward...

Pasta sauce as a last resort
m My irn used to eat carrots, broccoli, cucumber, sweet potato, radishes, and squash raw. He would refuse any greens and pellets. So I crushed the pellets, coated the veggies in them and success, he started to eat pellets. Unfortunately, he now refuses all veg. We're talking about grabbing and tossi...

Has anyone flown with their bird?
This Christmas I will be traveling for a week, and if I can't find a sitter I will have to take him with me. I've read that some airlines allow a bird in the cabin but it would make me feel alot better to hear from someon whose flown with their bird. Also, I don't know if I can take his usual cage w...

My Ringneck Ace
Hey everyone, thought I'd introduce myself and Ace, my 14month old ringneck. He(?) has been pretty awesome and I've had him a whole 5 days. Completely different personality from the ringneck I raised as a child, Orion, but that's half the fun. Here's a video of me teaching him to fetch today. Sorry ...

New 14 month ringneck
Hey everyone, I just brought home Ace yesterday and he's been a blast. I raised a ringneck as a child and am excited to have one as an adult. Ace has been, by far, the most calm bird I have ever had. Immediately upon coming home he was exploring outside his cage and accepting petting from strangers....
