Re: Blueberrybird Moved Topic

Thank you, thank you! The breeder had him in a cage with the other babies, he was hand fed, after I paid for him and the DNA test, and he was weAned to seed, she sent him and one sibling to the "trainers" for a week, while we waited for the DNA results. Re: 10 Steps to a Better Relationship with Your Bird

Day 5 and my 3 month old still will not come out of his cage. He will take treats from my hand, but is nippy, I try not to respond, it's hard when you've never been bitten by a bird, his cage is not in a central location, due to a/c vents and lack of windows in central areas. How long should I allow...

Re: Any suggestions for toys?

My new baby refuses to go to the bottom of his cage to play with any toys that aren't hanging.

Re: Introduce yourself

Hey, if I don't "force" him, how will I ever get him to a "neutral" place? I did get him to take treats from my hand inside his cage just now :)

Re: Introduce yourself

Did yours bite at first? How long should I leave him in the cage before make him come out? If I leave him in there for too many days will it be harder to get him out?the cage is pretty big, and it's in my bedroom, where he won't get that much interaction:( my dilemma is every spot in my house where ...

Re: Introduce yourself

No, he is my first, I got to the breeders, and was able to pick him up, he was skittish, but I was able to handle him. He slept most of the three hour drive home. I removed him from the travel cage when we got home, and he bit the crap out of me several times! Lol. I put him in his new cage, he runs...

Cute baby, I see them opening their wings ALOT while bathing, do they like getting the underside of their wings wet, or are they avoiding it?

Re: new cage

I have a cage for a baby irn I will b getting soon. I would like to set up a play station on top of the cage but it will be above eye level if I do this. Is there a potential problem with this? The breeder told me I should not have the bird above eye level if I want it to be handelable, is this true?
