Rats and Birds in the Same House?

Hey there :)

I was wondering if it is safe to keep rats and birds in the same house? Currently, I have two ringnecks and a sun conure along with 2 indoor cats (soon to be 3!).

They would be in the same room, if that's any help.

Thanks in advance,
Michaela

Have you tried cheerios and ice cream cones? I give them a cone sometimes, and they go crazy over how crunchy and noisy it is; they rip it apart more than eat it. Dried peppers may be worth trying, too.

Strange colours?

Hello. Both of my birds, Bonnie and Clyde, are siblings and are caged together. They are 1.5 years old. I've noticed some strange colours in their two blue tail feathers and a lack of colour elsewhere. This is the (assumed) females tail feathers. There is a lot of green where there should be blue. h...

I cover mine if they seem chilly, or if I have a light on in that room past their normal "bed time" (they usually decide to sleep around the time it gets dark outside). I think $200 is fairly reasonable, if not a little excessive when you look at age of the bird and the fact that you've been caring for the bird for a few months, now.

If you can talk her down a bit, go for it. :) I'd say buy the bird either way, as it seems that you are fairly bonded with her.

If you or whoever you have to clip your birds toe nails accidentally clips too far, (quickly) before stopping the bleeding, collect some of the blood on the blood card (if you were to get your results from Avian Biotech), a paper towel, or some sheet of paper. :) Or, you could have a vet pull the fe...

Define "attacking"? My two generally nip at each other now and then, but that is more of a "I'm the boss" type thing, and it never gets violent. If it is just that, I wouldn't worry too much - if they are getting really mean with each other, though, I'd also suggest a separate cage.
