A few days ago he started getting a little nippy and growling once in awhile. lol this morning he was strutting around the bottom of his cage pinning his eyes and grumbling. It kinda looked like a really bad interpretation of the typi...

Am I encouraging this behavior?

Naboo my 6 week old(as of tomorrow) is a good little guy. When I have him out he likes to hide. As much as he wants to I do not let him hide on my shoulder in my hair. Even if it wasn't a death trap (long, frizzy and curly)I would not let him do it. But I do let him snuggle in a blanket or under my ...

Re: Home at last.

Thanks everyone :D He is growing up to fast! Already starting to perch and step up. Exercising his wings several times a day. Someone make him slow down. I think he is going to be quite the chatter box. Always making some kind of noise. Not just the normal baby noises but he plays with sound too. Ba...

Frozen food?

Hi all! I plan on giving my IRN some human baby food as he starts to wean and as a treat as he grows. This got me to thinking. There is no way one little bird can eat that much human baby food in a three day period. I was thinking about dividing the baby food in to one of those mini ice cube trays. ...

hi Barbara!
Hey I live there. We have a flock that likes to hang out in our neighborhood. It is because of them that I am getting my IRN. They love to eat the fruit off our trees little buggars.
Did you ever get a baby? If so who did you get yours from?

A question about perches.

I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were when it comes to perches that help keep the nails trimmed. What do you all think is the safest/best? I know some are very bad for their feet (the plastic ones with sand and the sandpaper covers) :( but are there good ones? Tooty Fruity Bee Pollen Pe...

I know of someone who has mint growing in all his aviaries. I think citrus trees are alright. We have a flock of wild Indian Ringnecks that like to take bites out of ours now and then. From what I understand though apple trees and fruit trees that produce fruit with pits are very bad.(plums, nectari...

Hi everyone! I don't have a ringneck yet. My breeder has 3 one week olds that she will be pulling soon.
