Yes, I was thinking about DNA testing, was looking though some of the companies that do testing. I'm impatient .I got him/her at about 6 months from a breeder so I'm quite confident its about 18 months old, so not quite 2 years old yet. Thanks for the help!!

Hello!
Hello, I have an aviary raised cobalt IRN and is nearly 2 and I was wondering if anyone could hazard a guess at its gender? I'm leaning towards female as I don't think there is any ring development... but what would you guys say? I have seen it do a slow strut while pinning as well as standing up an...

Hello again! This account is very old now, and once long time ago I made a few posts but probably not many people remember me. Back then I just loved IRN a LOT, but could not get the birds as my mum didn't think I could take care of them (being in the middle/end of high school and all). Having no bi...

that some how sounds a bit like a alexandrine ringneck, but it shouldn't be as the mutation is not likely to be a alex, compare your bird with google images of alex's. It might just be that your bird is unique, like how everyone person has a different skin colour.

Congrats on your new bird! :D Most things about these birds and precautions are up, depends on your luck too. Hello Kerioke,
Sad to hear about ill treatment! In the end people who care buy them to save them but still they suffer, the IRN given a better life, full and sweet, but not what it could have been if they were well treated. Good on you for saving the birds. I hope all goes well with your others.

wild birds are VERY hard to tame! they would be accustomed to being part of wild flock and so unresponsive to taming attemps. this is the same with any other wild birds, IRN or ARN.
how did you come to aquire this wild bird?
