A very good local event Ya'all might be interested in.

things sound pretty normal.

Everything you mention sounds very normal. Pellets in the water cup is completely normal; the diet sounds excellant, and the plucking could just be for this molt. Or, as was explained to me once by a skilled bird owner--that the bird is going through a hormonal phase, like a teenager might, and that...

Hey,

Yeah Kyria is exactly correct, ditch the grit.

As for the feather; did your fid pluck it or did it fall out? Maybe your fid is starting to molt hence some of the stress you are seeing.

Good luck.

You should be making plans to get your bird back.

Hey-- It is probably your bird and you should immediately expend every effort to recapture her. If you do not capture her she will most surely be taken by a predator. If you are clever enough to get her back then you need to carefully assess your cage set-up and fix what allowed her to escape. Don't...

It sounds like everything is OK with your fid.

It sounds as if you are noticing the birds crop, and it sounds like everything is normal with your fid. Taking the fid to an avian vet is a good idea; if they just verify that you're seeing the crop then it is a 'well bird' visit, if they find something then you and the fid are way ahead of fixing t...
