Normal greens or is there a difference?
Here are 2 green babies I bred, both nestmates, have a look at the following pics and look at the variation in colour especially in the tail feathers and tell me what you think, would you call both birds normal green or is one different to the other http://s20.postimg.org/d2m1e9x65/IMG_20140307_0015...

Hi Ush, what it would mean is the blue cock is split ino, and that's why you got a lutino baby. This is the possible results from your pairing 1.0 blue /ino x 0.1 ino % from all 1.0 50.0% 1.0 green /blue ino 50.0% 1.0 ino /blue % from all 0.1 50.0% 0.1 ino /blue 50.0% 0.1 green /blue So as you can s...

Re: Green plus blue equals ?

Re: Green plus blue equals ?
Yes they will be green only unless they are carrying any recessive genes from previous generations. You don't need to find a green/blue male to breed greens and blues, you can keep one of the female green/blue chicks and mate it back to the father and as you will see from the calculation below, you ...

Re: Green plus blue equals ?
Hi Rritoch, if all 3 off your green ringnecks are females then from the parents genetics they will be normal green not split to anything, that is if the parents were not carrying any splits. In this case I would say that the father was green and the mother was lutino, as per the calculation below, t...

Re: My pairings for the 2012 season
Hi SCB 22 Yes those are the 2 chicks I intend keeping and yes I'm leaving them to be parent raised as I want to use them as breeding birds in the future. I do have Pair 7 on 3 eggs but I'm not sure if they are fertile, as both the hen and cock are 1 year old birds. Pair 4 which had 3 eggs were found...
