Re: Pakshi pretty tail feathers - is he more than a Green IR

U did offend as u said u didn't think MY bird was beautiful cos of his wings. I bought him as I was told from the lady who handraised him that she took him to a vet and this was how the clipped his wings. I was not aware there are specific rules on how one should cut the wings. This is my first IRN....

Hi Ellie, I am about an hour south east of boonah. But as far as I know boonah is ok. I haven't heard any news re: floods in my area or surrounds. Maybe call hospital if u can to check? Or give scenic rim council a call :-) I pray she is safe :-)

Re: Pakshi pretty tail feathers - is he more than a Green IR

Ok well u can get off ur high horse. I bought pakshi from a handraiser 2 months ago and SHE clipped his wings! I am letting them grow back in as I don't like the fact that he hasn't any flight. So before u accuse people of animal cruelty, perhaps you should ask! I am deeply offended by your inaccura...

Re: Pakshi pretty tail feathers - is he more than a Green IR

thanks for the advice - maybe it is the weather - it has been pretty horrid for a month now.

So far I am safe from major floods - although the little community i am in has been flooded in for few days now. Everything will right itself soon.

Re: Pakshi pretty tail feathers - is he more than a Green IR

thank you for being so helpful Glenn ^^ as far as i can tell the black markings are only a recent thing. As far as I can tell he is a happy bird - eats lots of fruit and vege's, forages for food, plays etc. If they are from stress, is there anything I can do to make them go away? Could it be a diet ...

Pakshi pretty tail feathers - is he more than a Green IRN

Hi there everyone =) I have had Pakshi for 2 months now and love him very much. He has such attitude and I find it funny how he understands when I am cranky at him lol. What I wanted to know was is there more to Pakshi then meets the eye. He is between 4-5 months and I have noticed ever since I got ...

Re: Birdie Beverages

Ok now I am confused. I have just re-read the thread "what to feed your FID" and it states that yogurt is ok to give to them. As yogurt is a dairy product, why can you give them that but not milk? I dont plan on feeding Pakshi milk products, but he has eaten some yogurt and was fine. Can s...

Re: is Leg ring necessary?

My bird Pakshi also has a leg ring.

He came with it from the lady who hand-raised him.

I assumed it was something to do with breeders. Like an ID of the breeder or something?

I would also like to know why they have leg rings. Can you take them off?

Re: Birdie Beverages

Thanks for that Dana TBH I had no idea green tea contained so much caffeine. However I found that decaffeinated green tea looses some of its good antioxidants etc so I think I will stick to normal green tea myself - and tell Pakshi he isn't allowed it, altho I am sure he will be annoyed at me ^^ Doe...

Re: Birdie Beverages

Hi dana, Thanks for your reply - I figured caffeine was bad. As far as I can see the packet says 100% green tea. If there were to be caffeine in the tea, it would be a very minute amount. Pakshi only has a few sips before I take it away. Hisandy - I would also like to know. Can we give them fresh sq...

honestly I dont know. I am only new to IRN's as I got my first one less than a week ago. From what I have read in other posts there is a chance of some jealousy, but if you introduce them to each other slowly and with patience you should be ok. You could also try separate cages for the birds and int...
