Re: Baby IRN, all four toes facing forward- can't walk prope

Hi, yes I actually took him on that same day. I got him tested for PBFD (he's free of it) and sexed as well (it's a boy! :) ) Regarding the initial problem, the vet told me that he had multiple fractures in his legs from when he was very young and his bones had hardened that way due to either what t...

Baby IRN, all four toes facing forward- can't walk properly.

Hi everyone, i recently bought a blue IRN, the breeder told me she was about 4 weeks old. -1st problem: she had nearly all her feathers, except by her crop and bottom. But she could hardly stand. Is this indicative of a four week old? She has now started standing and walking around (this is where my...

Re: WEANING

@Julie: Really?? That is the strangest thing! At first I thought she was screeching to be taken out but then she sits on my hand looking at me expectantly and bobbing her head up and down like she wants a feed, still screeching, then will only quieten down once I give her one, yet she pigs out on her...

Re: Screeching

Hi everyone, just out of curiosity. My bird is 13 weeks old and she always screeches when she wants hand feedings. I've been told that she is too old to still get hand feedings but on the other hand I want her to grow up feeling safe and like there is always food for her. I tried starting off with t...

Re: Hi from South Africa (Johannesburg)

@ Kyria- Thank you!!!!! It's a great one to be in ;) @SCB- hahaha, yes!!!! They are too addictive and clever! What colours do we have here that you don't? I actually got her from a breeder in Germiston who's blue pair laid eggs recently, I'm waiting a few more weeks to see if they're ready to leave ...

Hi from South Africa (Johannesburg)

Hi everyone! I'm new to IRN's and only got mine (apple martini -apple for short-) a few weeks ago. She (not sure of the sex yet actually, but calling her "she" is just easier than s/he all the time :P) is a dark green IRN with yellow under her wings and blue feathers on her tail who is now...

WEANING

Hi everyone :) I got my Indian Ringneck about 3 weeks ago. S/he is now 13 weeks old and still not fully weaned, s/he can eat on it's own and does, regularly, but still screams for the formula twice a day (at about 11AM and 8PM, it used to be more) is s/he not a little old to still be wanting hand fe...
