Glad to know I am not the only Durban breeder here!!! Molossus, what colours do you breed? Re: I Got a new IRN today is he Olive?

Its quite sad when as a "breeder" you can go out and buy a bird without even realising you are purchasing a hybrid.
Surely you can see based on size, ring, beak, even facial appearance you are not buying a ringneck?

Its a pity.

Hi all just wanted to share this with you... I read all adverts when people have babies for sale and was horrified to find a breeder who has 30 day old babies on one feed a day for sale! If not, yes best to take her to a vet just in case.

Question one - Generally lay one every other day. 2 - Most males are very helpful, my male spends every free moment in the box with her, and on guard, then feeding her, then he will sit on the eggs while she is out to eat... 3 - Yes the male will feed the female (and chicks) while they in the box. Because they are wild, fully grown adults they would take years to train. Basically unless you are willing to spend the time and have the patience to spend with them (and even then it may not work!) as mentioned above, either allow them to breed in a comfortable sized aviary, and keep and hand rear ...

How old are they?

Based on appearances you have two females their.

Creamino cock birds should at least have a faint ring (not as dark as others, but definitely visable!)

And neither of your birds have any sign of a ring.

Thoroughly disagree on cross breeding the 2 species.
Alot of people frown upon it as it is not natural, nor good for the birds, in terms of defects, and being infertile.

Stick to breeding true colour birds, and not hybrids.

Everyone to their own though.
