Re: I Got a new IRN today is he Olive?

Its quite sad when as a "breeder" you can go out and buy a bird without even realising you are purchasing a hybrid.
Surely you can see based on size, ring, beak, even facial appearance you are not buying a ringneck?

Its a pity.

Based on appearances you have two females their.

Creamino cock birds should at least have a faint ring (not as dark as others, but definitely visable!)

And neither of your birds have any sign of a ring.

Thoroughly disagree on cross breeding the 2 species.
Alot of people frown upon it as it is not natural, nor good for the birds, in terms of defects, and being infertile.

Stick to breeding true colour birds, and not hybrids.

Everyone to their own though.

hold and love and cuddle to your hearts content, just not for a half hour to an hour after feeding, as if you accidently put to much pressure on the crop, it can force food back up and into the lungs which would cause your baby to aspirate (very bad). Best thing to do, is set a bed time from now for...

HI firstly, your images arent showing, secondly if they are only 2 to 3 months you will have to wait another 2 to 3 years before you know their sex, unless you have them saxed at an avian vet, as males only mature and display their rings at 2 to 3 years of age... no, there is no way to make them friends.

It is not recommended at all keeping indian ringnecks and other birds together, especially a smaller
bird such as a cockateil, as a small little arguement can easily end up with the cockateil being accidentaly killed by the ringneck.

Good Luck.

It is possible she could be egg bound, you need to watch her carefully as an egg bound female can die very quickly if not given the right medical attention.

in a newly laid egg you cannot tell if it is fertile, for at least i think it is 2 days, or more, the egg will look the same, whether it is fertile or infertile.

So it would be impossible for you to tell, if she laid the egg and it dropped striaght to the ground and broke.

Hi her age isnt really a worry, as a ringneck of any age is tameable with the time and patience.
I think clipping your girls wings will make taming and handling her much easier and you can always let her wings grow out should you not like it
