Ron is on waterworks road Chermside. He specializes in birds only.

I mix a cod liver capsule through their food, makes a huge difference!

Good luck!

Re: concerned about Ollie's beak

Did he come with the injury or has it happened since?

I had a bird with a similar injury who has since healed. Along with cream from the vet ( I use Ron Woodhouse) I added cod liver oil to the diet. Huge difference!

Definite male. He's got the full forehead, the ring forming, fuller chest etc

Agree with Glenn on this one. I breed IRN's I hand raise them as well. My male (7 months old) comes to work with me most days. They may have handled him to feed him but only for that purpose. The bird may not have been handled well and in a comfortable manner nor gently. I have many birds here who are now just aviary birds because "breeders" sold them as handraised birds - not tame birds.

We place the boxes in generally mid winter. Our first eggs are normally laid withing the first few weeks of spring.

Ringnecks dont become sexually mature until around 2 years old. Breeding proir to this can be dangerous to the hen.

With my babies, we handle them as much as possible both before and after feeding. Our babies didnt start sitting on our fingers until they were ready, however we allowed them to climb over us and fossick around on the floor under supervision.

The more interation the better.

A lot of birds will do this out of boredom. It is a learned behaviour.

Try changing his toys around, move his cage regulary, add some nuts in shells to his diet (it gives them something to do and keeps them busy with a treat at the end).
