outdoor play aviary for pet IRN
Hi everyone!!! It has been agesss since I was last on here, been really busy with school and other animal adventures! So I am writing for a bit of info. regarding building a small aviary outside for Louie. It would be approx. 2m long and 80cm wide. I am thinking of making it like a suspended aviary ...

Re: Breeding my blue eyed irn. Advice needed
Ok if neither of your birds are split to anything then all the babies will be green split to blue. Not sure about the blue eye thing with your hen. It sounds to me like they are going to breed but I have never bred IRN's before so don't take my word for it.

Re: Possibilities of violet from this pair
Ok if the parents are violetgreen male with blue female then your hen is violetgreen/blue. ( / = split to). If my calculations are correct :) : cinnamon blue male paired with violetgreen/blue female will produce: Male: 25% green/blue/cinnamon 25% violetblue/cinnamon 25% blue/cinnamon 25% violetgreen...

Selling Babies
I have a question for all you IRN Breeders in Australia (NSW in particular but answers from anywhere in Australia will be greatly appreciated): Do you find it easy to sell chicks to new homes? (as handreared pets, parent raised breeders or both(please specify which you breed/sell)) Thankyou in advan...

I am wondering: when talking genetics, is violetblue the same as violet (visually)? Does anyone have a link to or a pic of a violetgreen?

Oh I forgot to mention in my previous post that he had 2 sisters who he was raised with so he probably did copy off them but he only did it for the first few months I had him and he hasn't done it since.

Re: New here And have some questions!
Hi Jordan. My IRN is a DNA sexed male and when I first got him around 9-10 weeks old he did exactly the same thing when I would pet him so I wouldn't worry too much. Did you get a sexing certificate when you got him or did the seller/breeder just tell you that he/she is a male??

I think some of these stories are just horrible. Well for my IRN I get an empty tissue box and pull the plastic bits out. I fill it with shredded paper, foot toys, beads and a few peanuts and tie it to the side of Louie's cage. He spends ages pulling everything out and searching for the peanuts!!! When it is empty he starts shredding the box. lol
