this may be true i have a male that was hand fed and a pet for about 6 months of it's life he is now 4 years old and last year and this year i have seen him breeding numerous times with a proven hen and two years in row all eggs have been infertile mike

if the nest box is wood and unpainted you can use a spray bottle and wet the outside bottom of it a little

yea that will work most people feed cockatiel mix which you should find at your local feed store in 25 lb.& 50 lb. bags for a lot cheaper or if your only feeding 1 bird try walmart the 8in1 brand is pretty nice looking & dose not have much dust

it's quite often that this happens it's breeding season here in the US and females can get very territorial and often beat the male to death they usually tear them to shreads from what i've told sorry for your loss

train them on water bottles just add one to cage and they will find it and when they do and you notice water getting lower in bottle remove their bowel or dish it's easy and no more mess

the right size box is 12"x12"x 24" deep or 250mm x 250mm x 500mm deep with a ladder on the inside against the front wall (side with hole) for the hen to climb down

it has been know of 1 year old birds successfully breeding so i would not pull eggs until i knew they where infertile i would wait 14 days after the last egg was laid and candle them before i would throw them out who knows he might be lucky enough to be a dad

a blue mate will give you 50% green/blue & 50% blue birds ,with a violet mate i am not 100% sure but i think you will get the same results because the violet is a blue series bird and being the green/blue doesn't carry the violet gene you will not get violet offspring but you may get violet gree...
