great i'm glad i helped one thing i believe in is the only thing you want to buy from petco , pet smart , or places like them are fish everything else is priced way too high birds are priced way way too high and are poorly kept

you will pay out your **** for a cage from petco or pet smart if you can wait till you have a bird fair in your nearby area you can find that same cage for a whole lot less or something like it if not check on ebay or amazon i'm sure it can be found cheaper and not having to pay taxes will take care...

just put in pallid for the male and nothing for the female green is the normal color and you don't have to choose it

pine shavings work fine don't use cedar shavings though i read in a bird book they are toxic to birds so use pine shavings you can find them at any pet store, wal mart, or agriculture center

they don't always sleep on their perches i have several irn's that sleep hanging on to the side of their cages the only time they sleep in the nest boxes is during breeding season and some of the males never sleep in them at all so if your not planing on breeding and just have a pet i wouldn't waste...

they would not be split to anything violet is a blue series bird that is a dominate gene, blue is a recessive gene and no color bird can be split to violet so if the bird has no visual violet gene it cannot produce violet birds. i suggest going to abk publications and ordering phil robson's book the...

took out clear ringneck egg and replaced it with the plum heads' this morning checked this afternoon and it appears that she hasn't noticed the size difference because when i saw her off the nest i looked and it's still in the pile now it's the waiting game ! hopefully the plum heads will lay again ...
