Re: Charlie, boy or girl? Any guesses.
My IRN "Brett" also looks exactly like Charlie! He/She is a little over 1 year I think. Some days I think that the behaviors indicate a female, others a male? It doesn't matter to me, Brett shares a cage with 2 adult male lovebirds.

I have found a lot of success by remembering that relationships with birds are in some ways like with people but in many ways VERY different. Birds are not like dogs or cats! Trust is important, consistency and routine is key. My ...

Re: clingy!
My bird Brett, (a bit over 1 year), wants and can demand attention when I get home. First thing I do is open the cage-pop him/her on my shoulder-and do my normal routine. We talk, he/she get's stroked and travels around the house. I then get him some goodies (fruit, veggies, today a fruit smoothie) ...

Thank you for this question, I too have wondered this. My IRN loves fresh squeezed juice and our smoothies. Can they smell it as we are squeezing the fruit?

Re: Sprouting Bird Seed

They sprout fast and last a long time in the refrigerator. I start a new crop every 2 weeks. Sandy *Trying to get a ph...
