Call me crazy, but I thought a golden olive was actually that colour... a silver cinnamon bird is silver in colour, is it not?

Re: Does anyone know where to find an albino near bris, qld

Our breeding flights are only closed in on the top halfway. Our ancient cockatoo would usually screech his lungs out when a hawk was near, but when we moved, he couldnt handle it and passed away within 2 months. So our birds were minus their high tech security system then and the hawk would just swo...

The squawking is normally around sunrise and sunset - this is when they are most active!

Re: HELP...

Um... hell yes they can be dangerous!! If you buy an untamed bird and it bites you, it can bite your finger through to bone... and not let go. IRN are the same as any wild creature, they have a strong fight/flight instinct and if they feel threatened you're gunna cop it. Even your tame babies can bi...

Hey lucas If you do decide to make your own cage, I personally wont go with wood as a structure... IRN LUVVVVVVVVVV to chew on wood and anything else they can get their beaks around!! My mum dad and i created our aviaries at home. We used one of those metal gardening sheds ( like the ones you buy at...

Re: female ring neck dieing ?

MattAZ: The whole point of someone posting on here is to get help. You're not helping. Not everyone lives in areas that have close access to EMERGENCY avian vet. care. I know I don't. And I'm positive swearing at someone for making a mistake isn't the right reaction. Your mamma would have told you g...

Re: At what age do ringnecks?

Hey guys I think anything with a visible ino gene (either lutino or albino or creamino etc) have light coloured feet/eyes/beaks. All my blue and green birds ended up with dark bottom beaks, and dark feet and nails. I have some colours which have brown feet and brown nails, others still have pink fee...

Re: potential results

You can breed your pets, just know that they can get territorial over nestboxes, and even though you are adopted mum or dad to the prospective parents, they might not be as tolerant with you! I have a very tame cock bird who loves to nibble on my earrings, but when his mate has eggs or they have bab...

Sex linked or autosomal: how do i know which one?

Hi again!

I just want to know: how do i know if my lutinos are SL or NSL lutinos?

I bred two lutinos together from unknown backgrounds and in the 2 clutches they have hatched in total all 9 babies have been visually lutino. How do you work out if it is a SL trait or not?

Thanks Glenn that was awesome!! I gather you used gencalc to get that, i couldnt fingure out how to get a silver (grey cinnamon sorry) hen to not have green in the calculation. I kept coming up with greygreen babies and that didn't happen! Julie: i can't upload any photos cos i suck tech wise lol, b...

Grey lacewing from non lacewing parents?

Hi all I have a skyblue cock bird that I bred to a silver hen. They bred one year and produced 4 eggs all which hatched. hatchlings were 3 skyblue and what seems to be a grey lacewing. Ive been looking around and found a photo in a book which looks like the male version of whatever sex my bird is. I...
