i only have the two violets left..we are moving back to adelaide in about a month so sold two pairs which were pastel blue lacewing and creamino hen and violet male and blue hen..my dog got into the aviary and ate two other pairs which were blue lace pair and a grey grizzel hen and a blue male..have...

if i do seperate the violets ive heard its best to pair the violets with a blue..is the blue sex linked or will i get violets and blues in both sexes..cheers mate..greg

hey thanks for that,i have two violets as a pair atm..but as she is small i thought it be better to put her back to a green...is that right or is putting her to a violet male of normal size going to produce good sized birds?

i have a violet hen who is a little undersize i want to put her back to a green,will i get violet babies or will they be green violets..if i put their offspring to a violet what will the results be..thanks greg.

hi every one,an update on astro,he is doing really well now.we gave him some toys and upd his fruit and veg.the vet said there was nothing wrong so it was a nutritional problem.his tail has stayed in good shape for a while now,more than i can say for his toys..thanks everyone.

hey thanks for the pied pics..there is a grizzel on here http://home.wanadoo.nl/psittaculaworld/ ... rameri.htm its a recessive and the male loses its markings when it gets it ring,id never heard of it before either. thanks again

mmm,he really only chews the tail feathers off..im not sure wat you mean by preening toys tho..sorry he has ropes bells etc and branches to chew but most of the time hes on the curtain rod..cheers greg

hi melika he is out or the cage during the day and goes in at night,i have notice he seems to be chewing his feathers a lot and when they break he holds onto them chewing and playing with them,his cage set up is ok plenty of room havent noticed night frights nothig really scares him tho. cheers greg

the three babies i raised while i was off work with a broken foot..mitsy(the eccy) and astro(pastel) n pepsi(blue)..astro is the only one left as mitsy went to a new home and pepsi met with a premature end by the way of the dog :( ...astro is a awesome little bird very amusing :D http://i39.tinypic....

tail feathers breaking???
i have a 7 month old pastel blue that i hand reared from 4 weeks old,the tail feathers keep breaking about two thirds up from the tip,they grow back look good for a short period then break off again,does anyone know of this..cheers guys.

hi im greg,new to ringnecks and the forum..i have statred a collection of aviary birds,i have a new bird i found by chance,very unusual,i have been told its possibly pied or a grizzel..ill try post a pic.there is no history on it as it came from a dealer and no records of were it came from..look for...
