Re: Pairing Albino's

hi,
yea i agree with you. any ringneck would breed as long it finds its partner fascinating. I allso heard that there is a higher chance that a pair will breed if they are the same colour. so I think 2 albino have the same chance of breeding as 2 blues.

Hi, and no problem.
I am not from India, I am from Australia. Over here the the price for a mature male albino or lutino would be around $100 AUD. or a proven breeding pair around $300

Re: how to get albino

Hi, So you start off with a normal green ringneck, the ino of green is lutino and then a blue ringneck, the ino of that is albino. to produce inos you will need the male to be at least split to ino. for example. a green male split ino with a green hen. you will only get lutino hens 1.0 green /ino x ...

Hi, I used this web site. http://www.gencalc.com/gen/eng_genc.php?sp=0PsitIR you do get blues from this pair but they are all split to either, cinnamon, opaline, or pallid. Re: White light blue female?

Hi,
It sounds like the mother is a cinnamon blue. so the out come of a cinnamone blue with a blue male would be

1.0 blue cinnamonx 0.1 blue

% from all 1.0

100.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon
% from all 0.1
100.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon

so you will end up with one looking like its mother or the dad.

Baby Violet ringneck

Hi,
This my 3-3.5 week old ringneck. I took him/her out of the nesting box as the parents were not feeding him/her. He is being such a pig right now with all the food he is eating and I cant believe he is growing so fast. Here are some pics.
I think he is going to be a violet.

sorry this doesnt make much sence :?
do you mean that you think it should have its ring by now? mine took 2 and a half years to get his. It depends on the bird.

Hi,
How much did you py for him? it might be a pied but I do think it is. It might just be pigmentation of the feathers and as it is male I would say that you bird is split lutino. If you pair it up with your female green ringneck you will get 25% lutino hens.

Hi, no problem.
when feeding it is really up to the birds digestive system. in indian ringnecks and most birds, there is a crop (big round circle under the neck). you feed it when the crop is nearly empty and you will know when it full as it looks like its about to burst.
