I'm not sure, i buy assorted fruits and veggies and they get what i buy. I don't really have the budget but i'm sure lou wouldn't complain! It just gets calculated into what i buy.

we have a place here called pet supplies plus*i think* and you can buy it in bulk, seems to be a bit cheaper, plus he really likes them so essentially i cant go wrong..!

honestly i don't think he even misses the *s* word. I do give him those little seed balls every now and then for a treat, but they don't have the sunflower seeds in them, which are his/err was his favorite poison. Mik i did have to do it the eat or starve method, and i think Lou may've caved before ...

so we're doing really good here. Lou hasn't had *S-E-E-D* since a few weeks before xmas. Maybe i'm a nut, but i've noticed a difference in his behavior too, not just his color and improving health(is it my mind over matter?) Anyhow we've been slowly working me givin him "lovins" on the top...

Hello and welcome! I got Lou in a similar fashion. I saw him at the petstore and i went back to get him because he just latched on to me. You're definately going to enjoy your time with him as they're just amazing little creatures....who'll do anything for a scrap of food!

so lou's been eating pellets for a few wks now! imagine that! It's going well. He did well right away, but i completely took the seed out because i knew that he'd just eat seed if i converted him. So thank you to everyone who gave us advice on how to do it. I have a healthier fid now

so lou loves eggs, i was just wondering how often should he eat them? i've also read it's ok for them to have some of the shell mixed in. I'm weary of it. I am thinking of adding veggies to his eggs now that he like eggs. Thanks!

Lou enjoys a bit of cheese every now and then, but it's just the small preshredded stuff and i am very careful to how much i give him. I have no idea how or what he'd do. With my luck he'd love it, because he isnt supposed to have it.

So Lou seems to be adjusting well to the pellets. I'm happy, and he'll be healthier.
