I have had Ringo for eight months now and at first he used to hide at the back of his cage. He will step up but only if he really has to. He will tolerate me being very close to him and he will take treats off me but i still have a long way to go. I suppose it depends on the individual bird..... kee...

I have just bought Ringo a new cage... it has been assembled and all his toys etc put in but he will not go near it.... what should i do?

That is such a tragic but lovely story, how is your IRN with you now? I am an animal lover and cannot understand why people would want to harm or neglect any living creature!!!!!!!

Ringo eats around 4 - 5 grapes a day and unfortunately still eating seed, although i do offer him pellets all day and he gets fresh fruit & veggies twice a day, but he throws them all on the floor...he also gets millet every other day and i share one between Chico (the cockatiel) and Ringo..and ...

We have now had Ringo clipped, he cannot fly away any more, vet advised us that when we let him out, make sure his cage is on the floor until he realises that he cannot fly. My IRN absolutely hates gloves, when he sees them he screams, we do not use gloves on him anymore but have to on our cockateil.
