Fellas this has made very interesting reading for my nightshift. Although way over my head as Im only a newbie. I admire your passion and think this is why it gets heated. I hope none of you "leave" (Willy) as your insight and work will be missed. Just remember hypothesises can be proved right or wr...

Re: Hurry! Black or white?! =)

Sounds like you got a good deal, mine seems a little different with the feed things at the front but that doesnt matter. As long as you have easy access :) Thankfully if its similar to mine the cage is fairly easy to set up and the storage space underneath is awesome as it means all your bird stuff ...

Thats ok, I had a look at the list and they do sell Harrisons at the vet I intend to go to in brisbane, so might ask his opinion on different pellets while Im there and if he thinks Harrisons is better I might switch to it, it does look like it has more natural things. Ive found the book to be very ...

Re: Are your Irn's wings clipped?

My little one came clipped but I think "partially clipped" as he can still fly but cannot maintain height. I think thats the way I will keep him as we take him out a lot to our friends house (they also have an IRN) and while I want him to be able to fly away if he needs to I just dont want him to fl...

Re: Hurry! Black or white?! =)

Hey Red Nado I dont have a seed catcher thing on mine either, what I do is have a plastic table cloth that I lay out on the floor then up a bit of the wall and that seems to catch most of the seeds that are flung, then i can just move mine away (its on wheels) from plastic tablecloth and pick it up ...

Hey MissK I got the vetafarm brand because that was the one that the pet store recommended, they have a new line out called complete naturals (no colours just plain brown pellets + looks to be dried fruits in it as well) I cant find the ingredients for that one and then the normal line nutriblend pe...

Re: discussion about biting

Hey Ellie, I like the articles that you've posted about kind of looking at their body language and distracting or getting your hand out of there before they bite! My little one is only 15 weeks old now but hardly bites and when he/she does never draws blood and you can usually predict it as its norm...

how much of each (pellet, fruit & veg)

Hey everyone!! I just introduced my little one to pellets. My main question is 1. how much pellets/fruit/veg should I give him and 2. should I just get rid of the seed completely if he likes the pellets (he is munching through some I just gave him) or just slowly put less and less seed with the pell...

hey guys, I just recently bought an IRN. I think I have a grey green, but not actually sure he/she just doesn't look the normal green, got him/her from a pet shop and they said he/she was probably from a yellow and silver bird. I havent read much about mutations, is it easy to get a grey green breed...
