dishwashing liquid

i was washing the dishes tonight and Bluey jumped into the water! I am worried about the dishwashing liquid as i tried to wash him down (from the saop suds) but he would not let me near him. He loves his bathtime but he has never jumped into a sink full of soap suds before. Thankgod it was at the en...

Re: How noisy are Indian Ringneck Parakeets?

My almost One year old 'bluey' can be noisy. but nothing i cant stand. He uses the high pitched shreik in the morning when he can hear me get up and get ready for work and cant see me yet. He also does this high pitch call pretty much whenever we get in the door and we have not said hello yet. Any o...

Is there such a thing as getting them chipped with a tracking device - like with some mobiles parents have for there kids so they know exactly where their child is if you look up on the internet or something? That would be a good idea if it was possible. imagine how many lost or stolen birds out the...

smoke anyone?

Well Bluey now has a fascination with our smoke packets and lighters! We have to hide all packets and lighters. as soon as someone picks up a lighter he instantly thinks its his and tries to fly off with it. He has destryoed so many lighters its not funny! He is also getting into the habit of steali...

when i first got my bird cage a year ago the guy who made them told us to wash thorougly with vinegar and then water as it was a chicken wire cage. i guess it pays to read up on these things as i would never have thought to keep washing it with vinegar. we give it a good gourney out when it needs it...

another question i forgot to ask

So i know that once you have a ringneck its for life. And i have also read that if they are moved from one owner to another they can become depressed and may never recover. Has anyone had this happen to a rescued ringneck? BJ was from a mated pair. Is it possible he can become depressed from being a...

My indian ringneck 'Bluey' is not a year old yet and it looks as if he has started to get his ring around his neck? Its is to my understanding that they dont get their rings for a couple of years? I have my ringneck in front of the window also as his cage is large and fits well in the corner. I have read that you should not put them in front of the window. I think its fine. My ringneck gets lots of fresh air during the day and i always make sure he is not in direct sunlight. He likes to look ...

BLUEYS EATING BEHAVOUR! HELP

Bluey is about 7 weeks old. He has all of a sudden gone off his formula. He is flying now. Has been for about a week. Would learning to be able to fly be a a major distraction to eating? He is always hungry. We are force feeding him his formala at the moment. He will always be keen on about 5 mouthf...
