Re: violet turquoise
He is turquoise blue thanks. So if I put him with a blue hen they should produce blue or turquoise blue? Is there a different type of turquoise in the blue series or is he split or is it just the mutation? Please excuse my ignorance. Is the mutation referred to as turquoise blue not just turquoise?...

Hi, I paired two birds this season. Cock is turquoise and Hen is violet blue. They produced; 1x violet turquoise, 1x violet blue, 1x blue. Am I correct in assuming that the cock maybe split to blue. I am just trying to figure the cock and hens genetics as there is no guarantee and I am only going of...

Re: lost 3 saved 1
My birds are in 2.5m long suspended aviaries with box at one end. The cock was at the opposite end on a perch with the young in its beak. I had only just placed a bowl of sprouted seed in the cage maybe 15 minutes earlier. When I heard the chirps and went to investigate I noticed him on the perch wi...

I was feeding my birds fresh this morning and could faintly hear baby bird chirps. Excited I went to inspect the box only to find the father was on perch with a baby in his mouth ready to eat it. I scared him and he dropped it into the water bowel. I got out out straight away and have placed it into...

"Please Help" Hawk trying to eat my birds problem
A number of times I have been lucky enough to be at home just as a hawk decides to try and make a meal out of my birds, therefore allowing me to scare them away. I am concerned that one day I may not be so lucky. I am wondering if anyone has had any success with deterrents of any kind such ultrasoni...

Re: 2nd batch of eggs...
Try removing the nest box. Check eggs to see if fertile and if so maybe consider incubation if not remove them. Provide plenty of food, fresh and seed. Good luck and I hope all goes well.

breeding cousins question
Hi, please excuse my ignorance but I have two related cocks(brothers) paired with unrelated hens. Can I take offspring from pair 1 and breed them with offspring from pair 2? I know its not good practice to breed brother sister or father daughter etc but what about cousins?

Re: Calling IRN breeders from Australia
