Re: Can This Bird Be Tamed?
He's probably just molting. Ringnecks molt once a year, I think. The move might have stressed him a little and triggered molting a little early, but it's probably just natural. Eco started molting a couple of weeks ago. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Re: Exactly what are we and what will we make?
From what I can tell the hen is a lutino and the cock is a normal blue. I'm no mutation wiz either, but that's what it looks like to me. If I managed to do the genetic calculator right, the results should be: 1.0 blue x 0.1 ino % from all 1.0 100.0% 1.0 green /blue ino % from all 0.1 100.0% 0.1 gree...

Re: our new ringneck, velg's wing spreading behaviour questi
Yeah it looks like he is just stretching or maybe he is getting a little hot and is trying to cool off. I don't think it's anything to worry too much about, but since you just got him, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go for a routine check-up with and avian vet if you have one in your area. I hope this...

Re: Can This Bird Be Tamed?
I actually think it would be much easier to tame "Polly" if you clipped his wings. It's really not all that traumatic for the birds if someone who knows what they are doing clips their wings. It's a lot easier to gain his trust when you're not running around chasing him all the time trying...

I agree with smallworld. Check out behavior forums. Also remember to be patient. It will take time to gain your trust.

Your flock is so beautiful! It's like a r a i n b o w !!!!! It's so great what you did for those birds and that you would work so hard at such a young age to help. Welcome to the boards and, as I assume you have figure out over the last few months, if you have any questions about your ringnecks, jus...

thanks guys!
and to Kray Twins:
we usually had the curtains closed but they had started to fall a little so we took them down for a little while. He never tried to fly through the window, and we've clipped his wings now so he's not flying around anymore (although he tries sometimes )

sorry for my ignorance, but what is an opaline mutaion. I don't know much about genetics. I've heard the terms used several times on this site, but it never exactly knew what the mutaion entalied.

I would say the female is a Pallid-ino.
Check out what it says about Pallid-inos on
http://home.wanadoo.nl/psittaculaworld/ ... rameri.htm
It's more towards the bottom of the page. I think it describes Poppy very well.
I think Buzz is a normal Blue.

Is Eco a Boy?
I think my baby's starting to get his ring...maybe. But maybe it's just me being over anxious or something. He's going through a molt and yesterday I noticed he had some new blue feathers on his head. Here's a pic of that... http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb121/tigercat316/Eco/DSC_0907-1-1.jpg A...
