Since there aren't mixes specifically for IRNs, the closest mixes to a ringneck's natural diet would be a cockatiel mix. And since you already have those, just give them the same food. An all pellet or all seed diet is bad for birds (seed is mostly fat, and pellet can cause vitamin overdose) so it i...

I have no clue what it might be, as I can barely distinguish blues and turquoise... :? But it's a really beautiful bird! Although it probably wouldn't help me any, pictures of the head from the front might be helpful...it may be one of those clearhead-like mutations that make them kinda yellow...or ...

I think it would be okay to let your cockateil and IRN out together. I've even heard stories of these two kinds of birds sharing the same cage (although I wouldn't suggest you try this if your cockateil has adjusted to a cage by his/herself) so as long as they have been around eachother and don't se...

I was very surprised. I was expecting it to take weeks for him/her to let me pick him/her up. Now he/she's a spoiled birdie and squawks when I leave him/her for a few minutes. The people at the pet shop said we need to spend LOTS of time with them the first week or so. He/she just loves all of the a...

Biting Shirts...
My Eco keeps biting holes in all of my shirts. Does anyone have a guess to why this is? Is he scared? or does he not have enough toys to chew on? He has a few chew toys in his cage. Does he just like the texture of fabric on his beak or something? I think it may be the latter, so at the moment I'm m...

Branches?
What tree branches would be safe to use as perches in Eco's cage? I've heard fruit branches are safe and IRNs really like them. Any others? I don't know how easy would be to find fruit branches where I live. Also if you know of any branches that would be toxic that would be helpful too.

I've heard candles can be bad for them, and so is the glue in toilet rolls. Pencils are popular toys, but make sure to keep them away from the graphite. Break the tip of the pencil and put a cap eraser on the sharp end if your bird is especially curious about the graphite. I don't know about the rub...

My New Baby!!
Ok so he's not really a baby...This is Eco. He/She is about 1 year old. I just got him/her yesterday. I am so excited. He/She has adjusted really well. He/She already comes up to me willingly to get out of his/her cage. His/her previous owner must have taken really good care of him/her. http://farm4...
