Glad all is well! It's a scary thing when you're not sure why they are acting as they do . . . My Fiona paces when she wants out, then flaps her wings to get my attention. I made a playstand out of an old quilt rack. She thinks it's her own private toy. She freaks when anyone else is on it! hahaha A...

Update on Nonie Bird . . . (Fiona)
Okay, my big, beautiful (almost 5 month old) baby is sooooooooo sweet. Pretty sure Nonie is a SHE. Her fave spot to perch is right on my chest, under my chin. She's a cuddle bug! Today, I finally let her on my shoulder, again. She let me scratch her for at least 10 minutes while she sat up there . ....

Fiona
Well, it looks like I might have been wrong about the plucking . . . she was plucked by her parents and her feathers were still a little thin . . . since I switched her food to Harrison's, she's got LOTS of new feathers coming in & they are causing spaces between the feathers she already had. :)...

Biting birdie
I have the same problem with my husband's IRN. I coax her out with a treat or just leave the cage door open and wait for her to emerge. As soon as she's out, I can pick her up.

Fiona is plucking!
My three month old cinnamon IRN seems to be plucking her chest! I can't imagine what's causing it. Everyone has a separate cage. But a few days ago, I sold one of her siblings . . . could that cause her plucking? They never played together, but do you think she's anxious and thinks I'm going to sell...

Young bird
Young (and sometimes older birds) will rub their beaks on your fingers to simulate being fed by parent birds. It comforts them. Your bird trusts you and is comforted by your hand on its beak. That's a good thing! Enjoy!

My new babies . . .
Hi there! I just signed up on here April 15 . . . the day I picked up two 2month old IRNs. When we picked them up, they ran to the back of the cage, hissing and striking at us. (Not biting, though) So, they've been with us for three days, now. Today, at different times, they each came to the front o...

Good pet
IRNs ARE very headstrong. Some people just like really submissive birds, I guess. I have a couple of friends with FANTASTIC IRNs. Both are male. For some reason, the ones I've met that have made good pets are male. My husband's female IRN is really sweet to him, but hates everyone else. Lucky us!!! ...

Hi!!! My name is Carolyn!
Well, I've got a few birds . . . and my husband (nillasdad) is on here. But, today, I picked up two baby (just weaned) IRNs. They are BEAUTIFUL!!! They are right at two months old.
