I have two of them, have had them for 3 years now. They live in the same cage in the loungroom and have everything they could ever want for. And they screech flat out all day long too. Just have to put up with it i guess?

yeah, i think you are right. we play with them alot, have them out of the cage whenever we are home, but i am beginning to accept that they are just noisy little fellas. i have a varied lorikeet who lives next to them, and he has taken to copying their chirping, and seems to sdend them into a frenzy...

really? you can tell by the shape of its head? amazing, they all look the same to me. the only sure way is a DNA test which you send some feathers away for, or wait and see if he/she gets a ring.....still don't see any difference in my male and females heads?

i think he looks fine. he looks a bit ruffled, but he is young still. Just make sure you give hime heaps of fruit and veg. A balanced diet is the best way to look afer his feathers. yeah, my two irns pin their eyes when they are looking at something close to them (such as food), aswell as when they are angry...funny aren't they?!

my blue male has it happen a fair bit, and he flaps his wings heaps. I think its just a matter of a feather out of place. he always manages to fix it up himself in a minute or two. not sure if its painful, he doesn't show any sign of pain when it happens to him.

we get them here in North Qld , but only for the wet season. Once all the mangoes on the graound here decompose, no moe fruit flies. Probably no help to you if you don't live in North Qld....

just having a closer look at my two, he female lutino (Puddy) has "white" where the black shouldbe on her beak, and she has "white" sunglasses too. The blue male (Babu) has black bottom beak and black tip on the top beak, and black sunglasses. Both these colours match the colours...

i feed mt two irn the corners of the crust off my toast, and they insist on having peanut butter on it too! they get very cranky if they don't get their toast when we have our brekky, and even crankier if it doesn't have peanut butter! They make me laugh so much!

Thanks for the reply. The birds have been in each others company for about three weeks now. I wont be breading them for a while yet, as the male is only about 4 months old. But in the future i was hoping to breed them, but things don't look to promising at the moment.
