I would take him to the vet first to rule out any health issues, then if there are not health issues then talk with the vet to see if there may be behavioral reasons for plucking. It can be stress, a new place, or anything-but rule out health issues first.

Mine is so greedy, he eats any size but try different sizes in small bags to see which one your prefers. With my IRN put it in his bowl and he will come :D

Is it possible to move him to a quieter spot until he gets used to his surroundings? I know with my IRN when I moved him out of the living room that is when he started to come out of his cage and became more confident of his surroundings.

He is still adjusting to his enviornment-be patient. It took my IRN 2 months to stop running for his life when I put my hand in the catge or just walked by. Try talking quietly to your bird, and offering a treat when you pass the cage.

To get my rescued IRN to eventuallly come out of his cage I put a treat on the cage door and his stomache won out. Now he always comes out looking for something or now just plain curious. You may want to try that.

My quaker parrot was very loud at first-very loud but once I got him to talk he talks, and chatters and very rarely screams. I think that will help and to give him more to do in the cage. good luck!!

Well, Pacman's feather's are growing in nicely and I am giving him flaxseed oil to stop his beak from drying out and aloe vera in his water for his feathers. I still do not have the results-called vet yesterday. He has spiky feathers growing where the bald spots were and is doing his normal thing-eating and squawking- I will let you know and thanks for the encourgement and the prayers.

You may want to invest in something called a " Buddy Perch" which is sold online. It is a perch attached to plexi glass which shields your hands from getting bitten and thereby you can gain your confidence back. You may have to get him used to the perch, but it seems to be working for me, ...

You were right, he is starting to return to normal. Pacman-that's his name is taking food out of my hand again, coming out of his cage, and playing with the other birds. He is even coming back on my lap again. What a guy!!! :P I feel so much better.

I have had this problem with my parakeets. What I did was get two of eveything. Two feeding bowls, two water bottles, toys etc. It did help, but if your female just wants everything, than you may try seperation. I hope this helps. :lol:
