Ok, here goes. We got two ringnecks as you may have read on the other board. They came untamed and within a week I was shocked at the progress I made with MAX, however, Ruby was also following suit and taking food from our hands. It could be a couple of things (although I dont claim to be an expert so if your worried see a vet!) It could be the usual boredom thing, if the bird is bored, depressed or upset then it could well be that. Monitor whats happening around your bird when it happens. Thanks! Some more stuff happened this evening. Max, the male, seemed to relax enough to take food out of my lips, then he was doing it without and I'd give him a seed afterwards.....but Ruby, the female hasnt been so forthcoming, until this evening...my partner got her to take food out of her hand, ...

Hi all, I'm gosberry's fiance. We're really excited to be the new owners of these fantastic birds and we've had some successes in two days alone. Yesterday when we let them out for some exercise Max (the male) took food from my hand.....ruby also did the same but from inside the cage..they didnt wan...
