Re: Whats wrong with my IRN??
Firstly you should never introduce a indian ringneck cock bird to a hen. It is her aviary at the time and she maybe very protective. Where possible you should put the hen into the cocks aviary. The hen is the dominant bird and if she doesn't take to a cock straight away she is more likely to kill hi...

It has been very rewarding so far, also extreamly busy as I have been rearing a few chciks.
They are doing well all nice and healthy.

No, not necessarily as when the hen starts to sit that is the when incubation starts.
You should find that the eggs hatch at a similar time.

I do remember reading something....
Chillies will not hurt you ringneck... they have no heat sences on the tongue.
Chilli is great for their feather colour and condition.
chilli is extreamly high in Vitamin A
Mine love it.... I sometimes even sprinkle dried chilli over fruit and veg.

In the violet ringneck the shades of violet can vary considerably. It is difficult to show in pics...take note to light. Pics can also be altered. This is a pic of a SF violet and a DF violet...That I bred last season. Notice the darker tail...and head...a Df violet looks like a dusty or dirty viole...
