Firstly you should never introduce a indian ringneck cock bird to a hen. It is her aviary at the time and she maybe very protective. Where possible you should put the hen into the cocks aviary. The hen is the dominant bird and if she doesn't take to a cock straight away she is more likely to kill hi...

Well the wash is Pastel...
There is no cinnamon here, cinnamon dilutes the color alot.
The bird is pretty dark.

No, not necessarily as when the hen starts to sit that is the when incubation starts.
You should find that the eggs hatch at a similar time. :P

I do remember reading something....
Chillies will not hurt you ringneck... they have no heat sences on the tongue.
Chilli is great for their feather colour and condition.
chilli is extreamly high in Vitamin A

Hi David, Well everything sounds like it is going along smoothly. I found that this season the weather has not really warmed up so some of my clutches have taken a little longer to hatch out. O.k......these birds are being surgically sexed by an avian vet.
The vet has to but them to sleep to do this.

Hi all, I know it seems early....however.....my cock birds have been displaying for some time now. :shock: I am located in Victoria. One pair have been mating now for the past week or so. Thanks everyone.... All babies are so beautiful. No, I have bred before but I am still pretty new and learning all the time. Just love this site In this nest I wil get blue and violets. The eldest is a blue. so now we will just have to see. It really doesn't matter but a violet would be a bonus.
