Re: 'Pirate' likes to shoot me with lazers!
I wondered if other people's ringnecks talked themselves to sleep! Mine does it aswell. He buries his head in his feathers and chatters away...sometimes for a long time. It's nice to know that's a cute little trait they have

Quite possibly ... I'm itching to find out my birds parents to make sure and I can't get hold of them! May have to resort to jumping over their fence

Re: Please what colour is my IRN?
Thank you for the pictures! Better ones would be great if you get a chance
I haven't found out the parents yet as when my partner called in they weren't home. Hopefully we will be able to catch them soon as I really want to know

Re: Please what colour is my IRN?
Thank you!
This could be possible! My partner is going to be in the breeders area next week, so he is going to call in and ask to have a look at their pair as we lost their phone contact details. When I find out the definite colour of the parents I will let you guys know

Re: Pirates funny antics
Haha they are best mates. Pirate nibbles Sir Lancelots legs and the back of his neck and he loves it (Guess it's like getting a back scratch) and in turn Sir Lancelot cruises around the house with Pirate on his back. I found them both asleep once but of course when I grabbed the camera they both wok...

Re: Please what colour is my IRN?
Thank you! In regards to his feathers becoming bluer when he moults. The smaller ones underneath his body are alot bluer than his larger feathers as many of these have moulted already. I couldn't get a picture of underneath him as he gets angry if anything approaches him from that angle. But you can...

My Birdie Pirate who will be 1 year old next month is a pretty cheeky birdy. These pics have been taken over the last 12 months. He has started to turn a shade of blue (not shown in these pics), which you can see in the mutation section of the forum under 'Please what colour is my IRN?' ... Anyway h...

Re: Question about Albino Ringneck....
Hi Carmen, My IRN has a blue iris and very dark pretty much black pupils. Pretty much the same as your Lacey. Ring0Neck I think you commented on one of my other posts about this and I thank you. The breeders said it was very strange that their pair had produced 5 whites. They only had the one pair s...

Re: Please what colour is my IRN?
Thank you! I'll have to try and get some more info on the parents. I remember them being green but I didn't have a really hard look at them. People have said that maybe they weren't their parents. But the breeders only had the one pair of Indian Ringnecks and they were green. His head is very light ...

Re: Pure white ringnecks
Hi Carmen,
Yes he has been DNA sexed as male (got results today ) . Thank you for your reply. He just looks so white. I guess if he doesn't get a ring then I'll know if he is an albino? The blue eyes and pearlescent blue tinge just keep throwing me off

Re: Please what colour is my IRN?
The parents were both green. I'm not sure what kind of mutations etc. I just remember them both being very green. They had 5 babies and all were white which is making me think albino? It's kind of weird. I'll be able to put a pic up once I'm allowed to but in photos he just looks white. I'm unable t...

Please what colour is my IRN?
I have placed a few comments here and there on the forum about the colour of my bird but I was hoping someone could give me some more guidance. I originally thought my IRN was an albino. I was told it was an albino by the breeder although I've had my suspicions. At first glance my IRN looks albino/ ...

Re: Extremely Scary Posture/Movements?
My IRN 'Pirate' does this exact same thing. Exactly as you have described it. It is very strange and quite weird to watch. He snaps out of it quickly too. Apparently it's a bit of a territorial thing. Does your make the really loud squaking when doing these movements? Mine does the exact same noises...

Re: Pure white ringnecks
I was told yesterday that my IRN is not an albino by a professional bird person (haha I don't know if they have a formal name), because he has blue eyes and his feet aren't light enough. Sometimes I notice a very light pearlescent blue on his back and tail although if you glance at him quickly he ju...

Re: Question about Albino Ringneck....
I though I had an 'Albino' IRN also. Well that's what the breeder told me..... except he also has blue eyes! I went to a pet store yesterday and asked their professional breeder and he said that my bird is not albino if he has blue eyes. when I showed him a picture he also said his feet weren't ligh...

'Pirate' likes to shoot me with lazers!
My 8 month old Albino Indian Ringneck 'Pirate' has started to pretend to shoot me with lazers every time I walk past him!.... He says 'PEW...PEW...PEW PEW PEW....PPPPPEW!' He doesn't sound human and he doesn't sound like a bird. He sounds like a laser gun from Star Wars or something and is very real...

My IRN 'Pirate' has one of his wings slightly clipped. He doesn't even try to fly though. He stretches and flaps his wings but isn't even interested in flying.

Re: screaming /whistling loud
Hi, My Indian Ringneck Pirate use to do this a lot! He has a lot of toys and roams freely out of his cage etc. What stopped him from doing this was putting those seed things on a stick (where the seed is all stuck together) or fruit and seed on a stick in his cage and he has stopped. Weird, but mayb...

Pure white ringnecks
Hey! I have a pure white Indian Ringneck. I personally don't like calling him an albino due to the stigma attached to an albino animal (sickly, quiet, shorter life etc). I haven't come across anyone else who has one and was just wondering if anyone has one and if they have any sickly traits? My bird...
