Luigi's new hairdo

After putting some fresh water in Luigi's cage, he decided to style his hair instead of drink it, lol. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/Photoguy77/Pets/photo5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/Photoguy77/Pets/photo6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/Photoguy77/Pets/photo7.jpg

there are MANY reasons that could cause this. Maybe first try opening his cage door and let him exit the cage himself. If its a territorial issue, letting him get out of the cage himself might not make him so aggressive. I guess what Im saying is try different things that may pinpoint what is trigge...

My personal advise would to allow the bird a few days to adapt to the cage. Allow him to watch your every move. This way the surrounding s will seem somewhat normal after a few short days. Dont forget to interact, but NO TOUCHING. In this state, the bird is stressed enough. Simply offer it food, may...

My little guy just made 12 months and he is doing the same Debbie. Now I have had many parrots in the past, so this is nothing new for me...but as someone previously mentioned you cant allow yourself to withdraw from the lunges....and i dont. After 2 to 3 bites he sees his behavior doesnt affect me ...

Hi Darlene thanks for the suggestions. To answer your questions. The bird does indeed drink water, and his dropping are normal. He is slightly underweight, got a small case of "razor chest" but nothing too serious. And I am still feeding him baby chick formula...have never stopped since I ...

Few months ago I posted a thread about my IRN refusing to eat, http://indianringneck.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=6286&highlight= and nothing has changed. The bird is still refusing to eat food and is now 6 months old. I started out hand feeding like all my other parrots and slowly tried to ween hi...

Vet visit went good, they couldnt really see anything wrong. Fecal exam, gram stain, and crop sawb, all turn out normal. Vet agreed with me it could be a slight infetion, so for the next 5 days i have to squirt some cherry flavored meds (called Baytril) in his mouth. Hopefully this will get Loki bac...

The bird is 13 weeks old. I have tried introducing an "adult" foods, but he wont have anything to do with it. He even turns his nose up to the millet spray. One thing Ive noticed is that right after I feed him, he spits some of it back up. So im thinking its maybe a crop infection of some ...

Loki wont eat......

My baby IRN will simply not eat. It is at the age where it doesnt want handfeeding formula anymore, so i have slowly introduced new foods (I soak a little Zupreem in some water, as well as a chopped up mix of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and peas) The bird will not eat any of it. Im am having to f...

2 new babies

I am getting a baby IRN this weekend, and I purchased a HUGE cage for it, and then i started to think..maybe i should get 2, so it doesnt get lonely while I am away.
